I am sending this email because I might not be able to a?end the mee?ng on Nov. 17, 2025 and would like my comments
on record.
First I’d like to thank the city planners who have worked on this project. Specifically, Amanda has been extremely
professional and responsive.
I do believe the Fes?val Center needs rejuvena?on, I don’t believe the proposed changes to the General, Zoning, and
Specific Plans is appropriate or safe.
The addi?on of 447 apartments will only make emergency safety and evacua?on an even bigger nightmare.
I do not believe any addi?onal development along Santa Ana Canyon (especially between Weir Canyon and Mohler) be
considered un?l the Fairmont overpass is completed. That overpass can provide an addi?onal route in an emergency
situa?on.
Even with the city’s wonderful efforts in crea?ng “Know Your Way”, emergencies, like a fire, are very unpredictable.
Coupled with people being afraid for their lives, adding addi?onal traffic to an already gridlocked road is a recipe for
death and disaster. This will be made even worse if the SALT project goes in.
Please do not recommend this project as submi?ed. Let’s find other alterna?ves.
