Hello Council Members and Representatives,
I am writing to you in regards to the Festival Center and Deer Canyon development proposals that
are being presented and voted upon which if passed would result in significant dangers to the health
and safety of the local Anaheim Hills community.
These two developments could add a combined 2,000 cars to our very limited local roadways which
are already over capacity and strained in the event of a natural disaster where residents much
evacuate the area.
I am a proud resident of Anaheim Hills for almost 20 years and have been evacuated from my home
twice so I can speak first-hand to the dangers that already exist given the population of the
community vs. the underdeveloped infrastructure. During the first mandatory evacuation I had to
drive over the center median of Weir Canyon to turn around and escape via Serrano as traffic was
backed up all the way from the 91 which was shut down. This was not only a very scary scenario but
put the safety of my family at risk.
Supporting one or both these development proposals would simply result in a scenario where you are
putting the local residents lives at stake. The city has done no infrastructure expansion to support
residential expansion at this scale which is irresponsible.
We are asking for your continued support of the local community who you are elected to
represent. Please vote NO on the development proposals as they are not at a scale/scope which is
in line with the infrastructure capacity of the city and will no doubt result in increased safety risks. It
isn't a matter of IF we will see another evacuation but WHEN.
Thank you
