RESOLUTION NO. 4085
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM EMPLOYING QUINTON ENGINEERS, LTD.
TO MAKE A STUDY AND SURVEY OF FUTURE WATER
NEEDS OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AND OF METHODS
OF STORAGE AND ESTIMATES OF COSTS THEREOF AND
FIXING THEIR COMPENSATION.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the City of Anaheim
is rapidly expanding in area and increasing in population and that
there is an ever increasing demand for water for domestic purposes;
WHEREAS, the growing demand for domestic water and the
anticipated future demand will tax the facilities of the City Water
Department to adequately supply such demand and that it is necessar
that a study and a survey be made to determine the probable future
water demands of the City of Anaheim and the residents thereof and
to make a study and survey of the best and most economical methods
for the storage of water for use in case of emergency or shortage
of supply or damage to the transmission lines, and to make a study
of the estimated cost of construction of methods of storage and
to make a study of the design of the storage facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that Quinton Engineers,
capable of making such studies and surveys and reporting their
such studies and surveys and reports to the City Council for the
sum of Two Thousand and 00 /100 Dollars ($2,000.00), payable within
thirty (30) days following presentation of the final report and
the City Council finds that such sum is a reasonable sum to be
expended for the purposes aforesaid.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that Quinton Engineers, Ltd. of 816 South

II. To make recommendations as to the quantity of water to
be held in storage.
III. To make a study of anticipated storage methods and
operating problems as follows:
A. Elevated storage in the City.
B. Ground storage in the City.
C. Ground storage jointly with the City of Fullerton
D. Combinations of A, B, and C above.
IV. To make estimates of constructions costs of the various
methods of storage considered and reported upon.
V. To make a study and a report upon the design, taking into
consideration the following:
A. A study of the City of Anaheim's connections to
Metropolitan Water District line to reduce the
Cityts demand on the line during peak flow
periods.
B. The peak electrical power demands for pumping
in relation to storage.
VI. To make specific recommendations upon the following:
A. Initial development.
B. Ultimate development.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all engineering data shall

shall receive as compensation for their services for making the
foregoing studies, surveys, estimates, and furnishing and analyzing
engineering data and presenting a report with conclusions and
recommendations to the City Council as hereinabove set forth the
sum of Two Thousand and 00 /100 Dollars ($2,000.00), payable within
thirty (30) days following the presentation of their final report.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by me
