WHEREAS, on the 25th day of November 1952 William G.
Claussen, Vera R. Auest, Lester Mitchell, HenrLJ. DuBois, Ray Betts,
James W.
Patrick B. Boden, Mary E. Hannah, Otto Idso, Nelson Dierker and,/Henderson
filed a. written request with the City Council of the City of Anaheim
requestin74 the consent of the City Council to the commencement of pro
cedings for the annexation of certain inhabited territory, more par-
ticularly herein&fter described, to the City of Anaheim pursuant to
the provisions of the Annexation Act of 1913 (Title IV, Division 2,
Part 2, Chapter 1, Articles 1 to 4 inclusive, of the Government Code
of California) and
WHEREAS, the City Council did on the 25th day of November
1952 refer said request and application to the City Planning Com-
mission; and
7THEREAS, on the 9th day of December 1952 the City
Council did receive from the City Planning Commission its recommenda-
tion approving the proposes' annexation; and
WHEREAS the proposal for the annexation of said territory to
the City of Anaheim has been subrilitted to the Boundary Commission of
the County of Orange for its report to the proponents with respect to
the definiteness and certainty of the proposed boundaries; that said
Boundary Commission has (fit) reported upon the petition or pro
ceedings within twenty (20) days after it was submitted to it; and
WHEREAS, said City Council did, on the 9th day of December
19 52, adopt Resolution No. 2061 giving its consent to the commence
lient of said annexation proceedings and approving the circulation of
a petition for the annexation of said territory to the City of Ana-
heim; and
WHEREAS, on the 22nd day of ,December 19 52, said propon-
ents did publish a notice of intention to circulate a petition for
the annexation of the hereinafter described property to the City of
Anaheim, and within ten (10) days thereafter did file. with the City
Clerk of the City of Ana1ieiiii a copy of such notice of intention to
circulate a petition for the annexation to the City of Anaheim of said
te_cr'itory, which notice contained the names of the proponents intend-
ing to circulate the petition and the s-cecific boundaries of the terr-
itory proposed to be annexed, accompanied by a printed statement, not
exceeding five hundred (500) swords in length, containing reasons for
the petition, together with an affidavit of the publication of said
notice of intention to circulate said petition; and
WHEREAS, ?within fifteen (15) days after the filing of said
notice of intention to circulate said petition, accompanied by said
affidavit of publication, the City Council did, on the 23rd day of
December 19 52, adopt Resolution Ho. 2065 finding and determining
that it would be to the advantage and for the best interest of the
City of Anaheim and the qualified. electors residing within the herein-

after described territory, to approve the circulation of a petition
for the annexation of said territory to the City of Anaheim and did
thereupon approve the circulation of said petition; and
WHEREAS, on the 27th day of January 1953, the City Coun-
cil clicl receive a petition signed by not less than one- fourth of the
qualified electors residing within the territory hereinafter described,
as sacr..n by the County Registration of Voters, containing a descrip-
tion of the new territory proposed to be annexed to the City of
Anaheim and asking that said territory be annexed to the City; and
the City Council does find and determine that said proponents have
clone and performed the acts and things required to be done and per-
formed by the Annexation Act of 1913, at the time and in the manner
a..7 required by the provisions of said Act; and that said petition was
circulated more than twenty -one (21) days after the publication of
notice of intention to circulate such petition and that it is signed
by not less than one fourth of the qualified electors residing within
ti.e territory proposed to be annexed, as shown by the County Registra-
tion of Voters and as appears from the certificate of the City Clerk
of the City of Anaheim presented to the City Council at the time of
consideration of said petition and prior to the adoption of this reso-
lution; and does further find that more than twelve (12) qualified
electors resided within the boundaries of the territory proposed to be
annexed at the time of the filing of said petition for said annexation;
and does further find, from evidence and reports received and from
said petition, that at the time of the filing and presentation of said
petition, that said new territory proposed to be annexed to said City
of Anaheim did not form a part of any other city or municipal corpor-
ation, and that said territory was, at the time of filing said petition
inhabited territory and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does further find that it would be
to the advantage and for the best interests of the City of Anaheim,
and the residents thereof, and the qualified electors residing within
the territory proposed to be annexed, as hereinafter more particularly
described, to submit the question of the annexation of said territory
to the City of Anaheim to the electors residing within said territory;
and
':,1HIREAS, the City Council does further find that said terri-
tory should be designated by some appropriate name by which it may be
referred to upon the ballots used at the election at which the ques-
tion of annexation of said territory to the City of Anaheim shall be
submitted to the electors residing within said territory and that an
appropriate designation for such territory is ACACIA STREET
A T XA T I ON; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds from said petition and evidence
aid reports received that the boundaries of the territory so proposed
a, cl sought to be annexed to the City of Anaheim are as follows, to wit
Said territory is situated in the County of Orange, State of California
and the specific boundaries thereof are as follows:

ACACIA STREET ANNEXATION
A tract of land including a portion of Sections 2, 3, 4 and 11, Township 4
South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian and a portion of Section 34
and Township 3 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian, and more
particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the existing City Limits Line of the City of Anaheim,
said point being at the intersection of the South right -of -way line of East La Palma
Avenue and the East property line of Lot 1 of Original Tract No. 153 filed in Book
11, page 46, M.M.R.O.C. and a distance of 1669 feet more or less East of the mon-
umented center line of East Street; thence Northerly along a line perpendicular to
the monumented center line of East La Palma Avenue for a distance of 30 feet more
or less to the South line of Section 2, Township 4 South, Range 10 West, San Ber-
nardino Base and Meridian, said line being the monumented center line of East
La Palma Avenue; thence continuing Northerly along said line perpendicular to the
center line of East La Palma Avenue to the North right -of -way line of East La Palma
Avenue; thence Easterly along said North right -of -way line of East La Palma Avenue
to its intersection with the fast line of a parcel described as the East 2 of South-
west of the Southwest 4 of the Southeast a Section 2, Township 4 South, Range 10
West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian; thence northerly along said East line to the
Southeast corner of Lot 22 of Golden State Tract No. 2, Filed in Book 4, Page 68
M.M.R.O.C.; thence Northerly along the East line of said Lot 22 to the Northeast
corner thereof; thence continuing Northerly to the Southeast corner of Lot 18 of
said Golden State Tract; thence continuing Northerly along the East line of said
Lot 18 and Lot 14 of said Golden State Tract to the Northeast corner of said Lot 14;
thence Westerly along said North line of said Lot 14 to the East right -of -way line
of Acacia Street; thence Northerly along said east right -of -way line of Acacia
Street; a distance of 583.04 feet to a point; thence S 71 07t05n W, 180.23 ft.;
thence S 67°07'35" W, 194.42 feet; thence S 73 59' 20n W, 152.10 feet; thence S 85
25t36 W, 164.16 feet; thence S 89 W, 20 feet to the East line extended
Northerly of that certain parcel described as the South 5.42 acres of the West 18
acres of the South 36 acres of the East 2 of fractional Northwest i of Section 2,
Township 4 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian; thence Southerly
along said East line to the North line of said 5.42 acres; thence Westerly 663 feet
more or less to the West line of said 5.42 acres; thence southerly along said West
line to the Northerly right -of -way line of Burton Street; thence Westerly along
said right -of -way line of Burton Street and the Westerly prolongation thereof to
the West Section line of Section 2, Township 4 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino
Base and Meridian; thence continuing Westerly 3C feet more or less along said
prolongation of the North right -of -way line of Burton Street to the West right -of-
way line of Raymond Avenue; thence Northerly along said West right -of -way line of
Raymond Avenue and the northerly prolongation thereof to the North line of Section
3, Township 4 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian; the same being
the monumented center line of Orangethorpe Avenue; thence continuing Northerly along
said West right of-way line of Raymond Avenue and the southerly prolongation thereof
a. distance of 1320 feet more or less to the South City Limits line of the City of
Fullerton as existing October 23, 1952; thence Westerly 3910 feet more or less along
said City Limits Line of the City of Fullerton to the East line of South Harvard
Avenue, also known as North Lemon Street; thence Southerly 1320 feet more or less
along the said East line and the Southerly prolongation thereof to the North line
of Section 3, Township 4 South, Range 10 West San Bernardino Base and Meridian, the
same being the monumented Center line of Orangethorpe Avenue; thence continuing
Southerly along the said east righe -of -way line and the northerly prolongation
thereof to a point, said point being at the intersection of the extension of the
Southerly line of Lot 4 of Mile:: Rancho as recorded in Book 4, Page 7, M.M.O.C.
also being the center line of the Anaheim Union Water Company canal as shown on
said map; thence Southwesterly along said South line of said Lot 4 of Miles Rancho
and the Northeasterly pro7..on.ga.,ien thereof to a point on the existing City Limits
Line of the City of Fullerton. said City Limits Line being 330 feet more or less,
easterly and at right angles from the center line of South Spadra Road; thence
Southerly along said City Limits line of the City of Fullerton to an angle point;
thence Westerly continuing along said City Limits Line of the City of Fullerton a
distance of 300 feet more or less to the east right -of -way line of said South Spa.ir-
Road; thence northerly 100 feet more or less continuing along said City Limits Line
of the City of Fullerton and the East right -of -way line of Spadra Road to an angle
point; thence Westerly 60 feet more or less continuing along said City Limits Line
of the City of Fullerton to a point on the west side of said Spadra Roars, said
point being the intersection of the southernmost City Limits of the City of Ful-
lerton and the Northernmost City Limits of the City of Anaheim, it being also the
northeast corner of Lot 6 Miles Rancho on said West right -of -way line of South
Spadra Road also known as U. S. Highway 101; thence Southerly 410 feet more or less
along the said West right -c. -way line of Spadra Road and the existing City Limits
line of the City of Anaheim to an angle point; thence easterly 60 feet more or 1_ess
continuing along said City Limits Line of the City of Anaheim to the east right -of-
way line of said Spadra Road; thence Northeasterly 1318.5 feet more or less contin-
aing along said City Limits Line of the City of Anaheim to a point on the
West right -of -way line of Lemon Street, said point being 700.12 feet more or less
northerly from the Northwest right -'f -way corner of said Lemon Street and Romneya
Erive; thence continuing Northerly along said City Limits Line and said West right
of -way line of Lemon Street to an angle point on said City Limits Line of the City
of Anaheim; thence Easterly continuing along said City Limits Line, it being the
North line of the Kirven Annexation to the City of Anaheim as certified by the Sec-
retary of State, Janlia 11, 1946, to an angle point on said existing City Limits
I4ne; thence Northerly continuing along said City Limits Line a distance of 325055
feet more or less to an angle point on said City Limits Line; thence Easterly con-
tinuing along said City Limits Line a distance of 665 feet more or less to a point,
said point being an angle point in said City Limits line, it also being the center
of Section 3, Township 4 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian;
thence Northerly continuing along said City Limits Line a distance of 1828 feet more
or less to an angle point on said City Limits Line it also being the Northwesterly
corner of the Industrial Site Addition to the City of Anaheim, as certified by the
Secretary of State, August 21, 1924; thence Easterly continuing along said City
Limits Line a distance of 1328 feet more or less to an angle point on said City
Limits line; thence Southerly continuing along said City Limits Line a distance 4466
feet more or less to an angle point on said City Limits line, said point also being
on the monumented center line of East La Palma Avenue; thence Easterly continuing
along said City Limits line a distance 2755.18 feet more or less to a point of inter-
section of the said City Limits line and the West property lire of original Lot 1
of Tract 153 filed in Book 11, Page 46, M.M.R.0.0.; thence nontinuing Southerly
along said City Limits line 31.26 feet to the South right --of -way line of East La
Puma Avenue and an angle point on said City Limits line; thence Easterly continuing said City Limits line 536.46 feet to the point of beginning.
NO "r, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Anaheim that it does hereby declare its intention to call a special
election on the 20th day of March 19 53, for the purpose of
submitting to the electors residing in the hereinabove described new
territory, the question whether said new territory shall be annexed
to, incorporated in, and made a part of the City of Anaheim and the
property therein be, after such annexation, subject to taxation equal
ly with the property within said City of Anaheim, to pay its pro rata
share, based upon assessed valuation, of all of the bonded indebted-
ness of said City of Anaheim outstanding on the day of
190, or theretofore authorized; and
BE ET FURTHER RESOLVED that the territory so proposed to be
annexed shall be designated as ACACIA STPEET ANNFXATION
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 13th day of February 1912,

at the hour of /kIk2 o'clock P.K. in the City Council Chamber of the
City :a11 of the City of Anaheim be, and the same is hereby, fixed
as the day, hour and place when and where any person owning real
property within the territory so proposed to be annexed and having
any objections to the proposed annexation, may appear before the City
Council of the City of Anaheim and show cause why such territory
should not he so annexed; that all persons having any objections to
such proposed annexation are hereby notified to appear on said day,
at said hour and place, to show cause, if any they have, why such
territory should not be so annexed, and all such persons are further
notified that any protests against the calling of an election to sub
mit to the electors residing within said territory the question of
annexation of said territory to the City of Anaheim, or any protests
L the annexation of said territory to the City of Anaheim must
be in writing and may be filed with the City Clerk of the City of
.naheim at any time not later than the hour and date set forth herein
for the hearing of objections to said election.

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of
Anaheim be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to cause a copy
of this resolution to be oubl ished at least once a week for two weeks
prior to the date hercinabove fixed for the hearing of protests and
objections to said election and the annexation of said territory to
the City of Anaheim, in the ANAHEIM BULLETIN, a newspaper of general
circulation, published and circulated in the City of Anaheim, County
of Orange, State of California.
