CENTER ST. i ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA i RESOLUTION NO. 2060 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ASCERTAINING AND DETERMINING THE PREVAILING RATE OF WAGES TO BE PAID FOR EACH CRAFT OR TYPE OF WORKMAN OR MECHANIC NEEDED FOR PUBLIC WORKS CONTRACTS FOR THE FURNISHING OF ALL MATERIALS, PLANT, LABOR AND SERVICES FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF STREETS AND ALLEYS IN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, INCLUDING THE INSTALLA- TION OF PAVING, CURBING, GUTTERS, STORM DRAINS, SEWERS AND SIDEWALKS. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find and determine that public interest and necessity requires the acqui sition of materials, plant, labor and services for the public improvement of streets and alleys in the City of Anaheim, including the installation of paving, curbing, gutters, sidewalks, storm drains and sewers; and WHEREAS Section 1770 of the Labor Code of the State of California requires that the City Council ascertain and determine the general prevailing rate of hourly wages and rates for legal holidays and overtime work on public works and improvements in the locality in which the work is to be performed, for each craft or ;type of workman, laborer or mechanic needed for the execution of such public contracts and the making of such public improvements and for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and equipment and performing all work necessary for the execution and completion of said public contracts or improvements. Holidays as herein referred to shall be deemed to be New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Armistice Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. If any of the above men- tioned holidays, other than Labor Day and Thanksgiving Day, falls on Sunday, the Monday following shall be considered a legal holiday. The pay for foremen for each eight hour day shall be not less than One (x;1.00) Dollar more than the journeyman rate for the craft or workman involved. The overtime rule establishing the dates of overtime and 21 ;holiday work shall be in accordance with the following; Where a 22 single shift is worked, eight hours of continuous employment, except 23 I for lunch periods, shall constitute a day's work beginning on Mondays 24 and continuing through Friday each week. Where work is required in 25f excess of eight hours in any one day or during the interval of time 26 from 5:00 o'clock P.M. Friday and 7:00 o'clock A.M. Monday or on holidays, such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of one and one -half (ii) tunes the basic rate of wages. Properly indentured apprentices to any of the trades listed above may be employed upon such public improvements with skilled workmen, subject to the provisions of Section 1777.5 of the Labor Code of the State of California, the wage rates for such apprentices 11 to be determined as provided in said.
