A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL CF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM FINDIITG AND DETERMINING THAT PUBLIC
INTEREST AND NECESSITY RT UIRES THE CONSTRUCTION
AND COMPLETION OF A PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT, TO WIT:
THE EAST SANTA ANA S TREE IMPROVEMENT WITHIN THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM, ORANGE, COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
�ITD1 APPROVING THE DESIGN, PLAYS, SPECIFICATIONS
ADD DRAWINGS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF, AUTH-
ORIZING THE C(NSTRUCTIOIT OF SAID PUBLIC IMPROVE
MENT IN ACCORDANCE z'TITH SAID PLANS AI'TD SPECIFI-
CATIONS, AND AUTHORIZING AiTi DIRECTING THE CITY
CLERK TO PUBLISH A NOTICE IiP ITIITG SEALED
PROPOSALS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF.
WHEREAS, the »ublic interest and necessity requires the con
struction and completion of a public improvement in the City of
Anaheim, to wit: The East Santa Ana Street Improvement consisting
of paving of East Santa Ana Street from Olive Street to Orange Street
in the City of Anaheim, Orange County, California, including appur-
tenant work.
WHEREAS, the City Council instructed the City Engineer to
prepare detailed designs, plans and specifications for the construct
ion of said public improvement; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has prepared said detailed design
and detailed plans, profiles, drawings and specifications for the
construction of said public improvement and has submitted the same
to the City Council; and
7'7-iEREAS, the City Council finds that the plans and specifica-
tions for said public improvement above .mentioned are in accordance
7ith good engineering practice and are adequate to serve the needs
and requirements of the City of Anaheim and the citizens and residents
in said area for the purposes for which it is intended and that the
plans and specifications are adequate for the construction of said
public improvement and should be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Anaheim that the plans and specifications for said public improve-
ment hereinabove mentioned and described be, and the same are
hereby approved and adopted as prepared by the City Engineer.
�YD D :7 TURTHER RESOLVED that said public improvement shall
be constructed in accordance with said design, plans, profiles, draw
ings and specifications as preparecl by the City engineer and hereby
approved, and such addenda or modifications thereto as may be approved
_;prior to the awarding of bids therefor; and
DE 7T FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of
l,.heim be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to publish a
tics: according to law inviting sealed _proposals for the furnishing
of all plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, and all util-
ities and transportation, including power, fuel and grater and perform-
ing all work necessary to construct and complete in a good and work-
manlike manner, in strict accordance with said detail, design and
detailed .Mans and specifications as prepared by the City Engineer,
the public improvement hereinabove mentioned and described, and fixing
the 23rd day of December 1952 at the hour of 8:00 of clock
as the date and hour for the opening of said bids at the City Council
Chamber in the City 7.a11 in the City of Anaheim, and that said notice
shall be published twice, the first of which publication shall be at
least ten (10) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids,
and that said publications shall be at least five (5) days apart.
AYD 72 T FUR= ER TR R ESOLV D that the successful bidder or
bidders shall be required to enter into a contract ?.rith the City of
Anaheim in the manner and form approved by the City Attorney of the
City of Anaheim for the construction, installation and completion of
said public improvement hereinabove mentioned and described, in ac-
cordance with the plans and specifications prepared by the City
Engineer, the notice inviting sealed proposals, this resolution and
all applicable City Ordinances or Code Sections and the la.'rs of the
:Mate of California, and shall be requires' to post bonds and the in-
surance in the amounts and within the time required by law, as
specified in the notice inviting; sealed proposals, and in a form
approved by the City Attorney.
