1 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO CALL A SPECIAL ELECTION TO SUBMIT 2 TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS RESIDING IN THE HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED TERRITORY THE QUESTION OF ANNEXATION OF SAID TERRITORY TO THE 3 CITY CF ANAHEIM, AND SETTING DATE FOR PUBLIC HEARING THEREFORE. 4 WHEREAS, on the 24th day of June, 1952, U. S. Electrical Motors, Inc., 5 by T. G. Myers, Vice President, Mrs. May Beatty Neighbors, Clarence Beatty 6 Neighbors, Mrs. Carmen Yrigollen, Mrs. Gladys R. Hylton, Mrs. Betty Yorba, Mr. 7 and Mrs. Harry Evans, Emma H. Heger, Mr. and Mrs Carroll Bland, Jr., Mr. and Mrs.l 8 R. G. Sutalo, Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Medley, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Miller, Mr. and Mrs. 9 R. Foote, filed a written request with the City Council of the City of Anaheim 10 requesting the consent of the City Council to the commencement of proceedings for 11 the annexation of certain inhabited territory, more particularly hereinafter 12 described, to the City of Anaheim pursuant to the provisions of the Annexation 13 Act of 1913 (Title IV, Division 2, Part 2, Chapter 1, Articles 1 to 4 inclusive, 14 of the Government Code of California), and 15 WHEREAS, the City Council did on the 24th day of June, 1952, refer said 16 request and application to the City Planning Commission, and 17 WHEREAS, on the 8th day of July, 1952, the City Council did receive 18 't from the City Planning Commission its recommendation approving the proposed annexT 19 i at ion, and 0 WHEREAS, on the 24th day of June, 1952, the City Council did refer said) 21 ;I application to the County Boundary Commission for an examination of the bo»niariei 22 I� of the proposed annexation; and that on the 22nd day of July, 1952, the approval 23 i o f the boundaries of said proposed annexation was received from the County Boundary 24 i Commission, and 25 WHEREAS, said City Council did, on the 22nd day of July, 1952, adopt 26 Resolution No. 19974. giving its consent to the commencement of said annexation 27 proceedings and approving the circulation of a petition for the Annexation of 28 said territory to the City of Anaheim, and 29 30 CITY OF ANAHEIM 204 E. ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 202 WHEREAS, on the 30th day of July, 1952, said proponents did publish a notice of intention to circulate a petition for the annexation of the hereinafter 31 described property to the City of Anaheim, and within ten (10) days thereafter 32 j did file with the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim a copy of such notice of -1- 7 CITY OF ANAHEIM 204 E. CALIFORNIA 1 intention to circulate a petition for the annexation, to the City of Anaheim, of 2 said territory, which notice contained the names of the proponents intending to 3 circulate the petition and the specific boundaries of the territory proposed to 4 be annexed, accompanied by a printed statement not exceeding five hundred (500) 5 words in length, containing reasons for the petition, together with an affidavit 6 of the publication of said notice of intention to circulate said petition, and 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 M61" 14 of said petition, and S, within fifteen (15) days after the filing of said notice of 81 intention to circulate said petition, accompanied by said affidavit of publicatioi., 9; the City Council did, on the 12th day of August, 1952, adopt Resolution No. 2003 1 101 finding and determining that it would be to the advantage and for the best interest 11 of the City of Anaheim and the qualified electors residing within the hereinafter 12 described territory, to approve the circulation of a petition for the annexation 1 13 of said territory to the City of Anaheim and did thereupon approve the circulation 15 WHEREAS, on the 21st day of ;October 1952, the City Council i 16 did receive a petition signed by not less than one fourth of the qualified electors residing within the territory hereinafter described, as shown by the County Registration of Voters, containing a description of the new territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim and asking that said territory be annexed to the City; and the City Council does find and determine that said proponents have done and performed the acts and things required to be done and performed by the Annexation Act of 1913, at the time and in the manner as required by the provisions of said Act; and that said petition was circulated more than twenty -onie 24 (21) days after the publication of notice of intention to circulate such petition, 25H and that it is signed by not less than one fourth of the qualified electors resid 26 ing within the territory proposed to be annexed, as shown by the County Registrat;io 27 of Voters and as appears from the certificate of the City Clerk of the City of 28 Anaheim presented to the City Council at the time of consideration of said petition 29 and prior to the adoption of this resolution; and does further find that more 30 than twelve (12) qualified electors resided within the boundaries of the territory 31 Id proposed to be annexed at the time of the filing of said petition for said 32 ;j annexation; and does further find, from evidence and reports received and from -2- 1 10 11 12 CITY OF ANAHEIM 204 E.
