A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM EMPLOYING C. V. TAORMINA AND WM. STEPANIAN
AS INDIPeeDEeT cONTRACTORS TO COLLECT, PICK UP AND
DISPOSE OF ALL RUBBISH ileC. TRASH ALONG CERTAIN
STREETS IN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM: FIXING THEIR COM-
PENSATION AND AUTe_ORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK
TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THEM FOR AND ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY 07 ANAHETY.
Alley north. of Center Street from Atchison. Street
to Palm Street.
Alley south of Center Street from Atchison to Palm
Street. (Alley and Oak Street are same alignuient).
Los Angeles Street from Broedwey to Water Street.
Alley east of Lo. Ange10 e Street between Froadvey
and c-:anta Ana Street.
Los Angeles Street from Chartres to Sycemore Street.
Alleys east and west of Los Angeles treet from
Syeemore to North Street.
Lemon Street Broadway to Oak Street.
Broadway Los Angeles to Lemon Street.
daily six days per week for a period of six months from the first
day of November, 1951, for the SUffl of Four Hundred Twenty Five
Dollars (5425.00) Per month until such time as the Price of (21.d-
bord shall reach the sum of ',e25.00 per ton and waste paper the
price of 8.00 per ton, and thereafter said Parties of the Second
Part shall receive Three Hundred DoI]ers (8300.00) per month.
Such collection end digposal of said rubbish and trash to be by
truck similar to thoce used by the City, and
WHER?AS, the City Council finds that the acceptence of said
offer and proposal would be for the benefit end best interest of
the City of Anaheim, and economical, and that ouch offer should be
accented;
NOW, THEREwORE, 3L TT "PSOIVED by the City Council of the
City of AeLheim that the proposal submitted by said C. V. Taormina
9 and pick-up shall be between 6:00 A.M. and 10:00 A.e that the
10 â– disposal of paper and cardboard shall be by baling at the Vermont
11 Street dump; that all other rubbish and trash shall be transported

13 1Vermont Street dump to the County dump; that said contractors shall
14 maintain the area used by them at the Vermont Street dump in a

1 and Wm. Stepanian be aacepted and that they be employed as indepen-
2 Ident contractors for a period of six months to collect, pick up,
31remove and dispose of all rubbish and trash upon and along the
4 'streets and alleys hereinbefore mentioned and described, and
5 BE Zr FURTHER RESOLVYD that said collection, removal and dis-
6 ;basal of said rubbish and trash shell be done six days per week
7 'during said term of six months- and shall be by motor tri)ok similar
8 to thos used by the City of Anaheim end that the time of collection
weekly, or at intervals as required by the City Engineer, from the
manner satisfactory to the City Engineer, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said contractors be, and they
are hereby, required to furnish to the City of Anaheim e faithful
')erformence bond in the sum of Two Thousand (82,000) Dollars to
guarantee the faithful performance of said contract, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said rubbish and trash shall be
collected and removed from all places of business along both sides
of Center Street from Atehiron to Fair: Streets and along both sides
of Los Angeles Street from Water to North Streets, and shall in-
clude such places as Alien's Market, Roquet's Market and the Anahei
Bulletin, and
BE 17 FURTHER RESOLVED that said contractors he and they are
hereby, required to carry and maintain compensation insurance satis-
factory to the City of Anaheim covering all of t,leir employees, and
public liability and prooerty damage insurance in the amount of
$50,000 100,000 upon each vehicle operated by them, and propert
damage in the amount of 85,000 425,000 upon each vehicle operated
by them.

8 IT IS HEREBY AGRYED BY AN] BPTEN ThEM AS FOLLOeS:
9 1. That the said Parties of the Second Part are hereby em-
10 1 played as independent contractors for a period of six (6) months
to collect, pick up, remove and dispose of all rubbish end trash
upon and along both sides of th streets and alleys hereinabove
mentioned and described.
2. That eaid collection, removal and eisposal of said rub-
bish and trash shall be done six (6) days per week during said term
of aix months and shell be by motor truck similar to those used by
the City of Anaheim and that the time of collection and pick-up
shall be between 6:00 A.M. and 10:00 A.M.; that the disposal of
paper and cardboard shall be by baling at the Vermont Street dump;
that all other rubeish and trash shall be trensported weekly, or at
intervals as required by the City Ongineer, from the Vermont Street
dump to the county dumol that said contractor shall maintain the
area used by them at the Vermont Street dump in a manner satisfact-
ory to the City Engineer.
3. That said contractors be, and they are h reby, required
to furnish to the City of Anaheim e faithful performance bond in
the um of Two Thousand Dollars (2,000.00) to guarantee the fei h-
ful performance of said contract.
4. That said rubbish and trash shall be collected and re-
moved from all places of business along both sides of Center 4 treet
from Atchison to Palm 9treete end along both aides of Los Angeles
Street from Water to North otreets, and shall include such places
