A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM ACKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT OF A PETITION
FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED
TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM: GIVING
NOTICE OF SUCH PROPOSED ANNEXATION, DESCRIBING
THE BOUNDARIES OF THE TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE
ANNEXED AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE DAY, HOUR AND
PLACE WHERE AND WHEN ANY PERSON OWNING REAL
PROPERTY WITHIN SUCH TERRITORY SO PROPOSED TO
BE ANNEXED MAY APPEAR BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL
AND SHOW CAUSE WHY SUCH TERRITORY SHOULD NOT
BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did on the
13th day of May 1952, rece3ve a written petition asking that
certain new territory described in said petition be annexed to the
City of Anaheim, and
WHEREAS, before the filing of said petition, the proposal
for the annexation of the territory hereinafter described to the
City of Anaheim was submitted to the Boundary Commission of the
County of Orange, State of California, and reported upon by said
Boundary Commission wit respect to the definiteness and certainty
of the proposed boundaries, and
WHEREAS, said territory proposed to be annexed to said City
of Anaheim is situated in the County of Orange, State of Californi
and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim and is uninhabited terri-
tory, and said petition contained a description of said territory
in words and figures as hereinafter in this Resolution described,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and reports
received that at the time of the filing and receipt of said.peti-
tion, it was and now is signed by owners of not less than one
fourth (4) of the area and not less than one fourth (4) of the
assessed valuation of the land in such territory proposed to be
annexed, according to the last preceding equalized county assess-
ment roll, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and reports
1 received and from said petition that at the time of the filing and
2 presentation of said petition that said new territory proposed to
3 be annexed to said City of Anaheim did not form a part of any mun-

4 icipal corporation and that said territory was uninhabited and is
1
5 contiguous to the City of Anaheim, and
6 WHEREAS, the City Council finds from said petition and
7 evidence and reports received that the boundaries of the territory
8 so proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim are as follows,
9 I to wit:
10 A tract of land lying within Section 9, Township 4
South Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian
11 including lots 6 and 7 also a portion of lot 5 and a
portion of Burton Street as shown on a map of the
12 Anaheim Homestead Tract made by H. J. Stevenson and
filed in Book 26, Page 10 of Miscellaneous Records
13 of Los Angeles County, State of California, November
18, 1887 and more particularly described as follows:

Beginning at a point on the existing City Limit
Line, said point being on the north right -of -way line
of Burton Street and a distance of 1323.46 feet more
or less east of the monumented center line of Loara
Street; thence Westwardly along said north right -of-
way line of Burton Street to a point of intersection
of said right -of -way line and the west property line
extended of Lot 7 of the Anaheim Homestead Tract;
thence Southwardly a distance of 1054 feet more or
less along said west line of lot 7 to the southwest
corner of said lot 7 and the existing City Limit Line;
thence Fastwardly along existing City Limit Line 918
feet more or less to the north and south City Limit
Line; thence continuing northwardly along existing
City Limit line to the north right -of -way line of
Burton Street and the point of beginning.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM:
That such proposed annexation be designated as BURTON
STREET ANNEXATION and that notice of such proposed annexation be
and the same is hereby given, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 2211d day of July 1952,
City Council Chamber in the
at the hour of 8 :00 o'clock P.M., at the
City Hall of the City of Anaheim, be and the same is hereby fixed
as the day, hour and place when and where any person owning real

property within said territory so proposed to be annexed, and hav-
ing any objections to the proposed annexation, may appear before th
City Council of the City of Anaheim and show cause why such terri-
41 tory should not be so annexed; that all persons having any objec-
5 tions to such proposed annexation are hereby notified to appear on

61, said day at said hour and place to show cause, if any they have,
7 why such territory should not be so annexed, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and he is
hereby, authorized and directed to cause a copy of this Resolution
to be published at least twice, but not oftener than, once a week
in a newspaper of general circulation, published in the City, to
wit: The Anaheim Bulletin of Anaheim, Orange County, California,
and also in a newspaper of general circulation, published outside
of the City, but in the County of Orange, in which is located the
territory hereinabove proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim
to wit: Placentia, Courier That such publication
shall be completed at least twenty (20) days prior to the date of
hearing hereinabove specified.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City
of Anaheim be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to cause
written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each
person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed is 1
assessed, in the last equalized county assessment roll available, onl
the date the proceedings were initiated, at the address shown on
said assessment rollor as known to said City Clerk, and to any per-1

son who has filed his name and address and the designation of lands]
in which he has any interest, either legal or equitable, with said I I
Clerk: That in the event that land within the territory proposed
to be annexed to the City of Anaheim is owned by a County, the City'',
Clerk of the City of Anaheim shall also cause written notice of
such proposed annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors
of such County. The foregoing notices shall be given not less than
