2 RESOLUTION ADOPTING WAGE SCALE FOR PUBLIC WORKS CONTRACTS
3 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM that in accor..
4 dance with the provisions of Section 1770 of the Labor Code of the State of
5 California, said City Council has ascertained the general prevailing rate of
6 hourly wages and rates for legal holiday and overtime work for each craft or
7 type of laborer, workman or mechanic needed for the execution of public work
8 contracts within said City, or other public work for which said City is Con-
9 tractingAgent, said prevailing rates so determined being as follows:

All foremen, unless separately classified, shall be paid for each eight
hour day not less than One and no /100 ($1.00) Dolier more than the journeyman
rate -for the craft or workman involved.
Apprentices may be employed in conformity with Section 1777.5 of the Calif
ornia Labor Code.
The rates of per diem wages for each of the various classifications of wor
shall be the hereinbefore set forth prevailing rates of hourly wages multiplied
by eight. Eight hours shall constitute a days work, it being understood that i
the event that workmen are employed less than eight hours per day the per diem
wage shall be that fraction of the per diem wage herein established that the
number of hours of employment bears to eight hours.
The overtime rule establishing the dates of overtime and holiday work
shall be in accordance with the following: Where a single shift is worked,
eight hours of continuous employment, except for lunch periods, shall constitute
a days work beginning on Monday and continuing through Friday each week. Where
work is required in excess of eight hours in any one day or during the interval
of time from 5:00 .o!olock P. M. Friday and 7 :00 otclock A. M. Monday or on holi-
days, such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of one and one -half (1i)
times the basic rate of wages.
Holidays as herein referred to shall be deemed to be New Year's Day,
Decoration Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Armistice Day, Thanksgiving Day
and Christmas Day. If any of the above mentioned holidays other than Labor Day
and Thanksgiving Day falls on Sunday, the Monday following shall be considered
a legal holiday.
It shall be mandatory upon the contractor to whom the contract is awarded

1 and upon any subcontractor under him to pay not less than the said specified
2 rates of wages to all laborers, workmen and mechanics employed by them in the
3 execution of the contract.
