1952-19241 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 RESOLUTION NO. l q.2' A RESOLUTION OF TH CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ACKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT OF A NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CIRCULATE A PETITION FOR THE ANNEXATION OF INHABITED TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM TOGETHER W TBE AFFIDAVIT OF THE PUBLISHING THEREOF, AND APPROVING THE CIRCULA- TION OF A PETITION FOR THE ANNEXATION OF SAID TERRITORY HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED, TO TFF CITY OF ANAHEIM. WHEREAS, on the 13th day of November, 1951, Patrick B. Boden, Chester C. Rodieck, P. T. Lambeth, Otto Idso and Raymond E. Miller filed a written request with the City Council of the City of Anaheim requesting the consent of the City Council to the commencement of proceedings for the annexation of certain in- habited territory more particularly hereinafter described to the City of Anaheim, pursuant to the provisions of the Annexation Act of 1913, Title IV, Division 2, Page 2, Chapter 1, Articles 1 to 4 inclusive, of The Government Code of California; and WHEREAS, the City Council did thereupon refer said appli- cation to the City Planning Commission; and WHEREAS, on the 13th day of November, 1951, the City Council did receive from the City Planning Commission its recom- mendation approving the proposed annexation; and WHEREAS, said City Council did give its consent to the commencement of said proceedings on the 13th day of November, 1951; and WHEREAS, on the 5th day of December, 1951, said proponents did file with the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim a notice of intention to circulate a petition for annexation to the City of Anaheim of the territory hereinafter described, together with an affidavit of the publication of said notice showing the same to have been published on the 3rd day of December, 1951; and WHFREAS, the City Council did thereafter on the llth day of December, 1951, find and determine that it would be to the ad- vantage and for the best interests of the City of Anaheim and the qualified electors residing within the hereinafter described territory to approve the circulation of a petition for annexation 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 of said territory to the City of Anaheim, and the Oity Council did thereupon approve the circulation of said petition, and such approval was entered in the minutes of the Council; and WHEREAS, said matter was referred to the County Boundary Commission with respect to the definiteness and certainty of the proposed boundaries, and a report and approval of such boundaries was received from said Boundary Commission on the 7th day of January, 1952. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM that the action of the City Council on December 11, 1951, approving the circulation of the petition for the annexation of the hereinafter described property to the City of Anaheim under the Annexation Act of 1913 hereinabove referred to be, and the same is hereby, ratified and confirmed, and that the circulation of said petition is hereby approved and that such annexation shall be designated as the ACACIA STREET ANNEXATION. The boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed are described as follows, to wi A tract of land including a portion of Sections 2, 3, and 11, of Township 4 South, Range 10 West, and a portion of Section 34, Township 3 South, Range 10 Nest, San Bernardino Base and Meridian, and Lots 9, 10, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24 of the Golden State Tract No. 2, as shown on a map recorded in Book 4, Page 68, Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, also Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 of the Stockwell Subdivision as shown on a Map, recorded in Book 6, Page 10, Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, also including Burton Street, Liberty Lane and a portion of Acacia Street, Romneya Drive, East La Palma Avenue (formerly known as North Street), Orangethorpe Avenue, Raymond Avenue, Baxter Street and North East Street, in the County of Orange, State of California, and more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point on the northerly city limit line of the City of Anaheim, said point being on the monumented center line of East La Palma Avenue (formerly known as North Street) and easterly a distance of 1133.16 feet from the monumented center line of North East Street; thence Southeastwardly along the present city limit line a dis- tance of 31.07 feet to a point on the Southerly property line of said East La Palma Avenue, said south line being parallel and 30 feet Southerly from the monumented center line of said East La Palma Avenue; thence Eastwardly along said Southerly property line of said Fast La Palma Avenue to a point of intersection with the Easterly line of the SW4 of the SE4 of Section 2, Township 4 South, Range 10 West, S.B.B. M. projected; thence Northwardly -2- 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 along said projected Easterly line of the SWj of the SEi of Section 2, to the Southerly line of Said Section 2, said Southerly line of Section 2 also being the center line of East La Palma Avenue; thence continuing North wardly along the Easterly line of said SWi. of the SE+ of Section 2 to the Northeast corner of said SW- of the SE- of said Seqtion 2; thence Easterly along the North line of the SWt of the SEi extended a distance of 20 feet to the Easterly line of Baxter Street projected; thence Northerly along the Easterly line of said Baxter Street projected and the Easterly line of Baxter Street to a point of intersection with the Northerly line of Lot 9 of Golden State Tract No. 2 as shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 4, Page 68, Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, projected; thence Westwardly along the Northerly line of said Lot 9 projected and the Northerly line of Lots 9 and 10 of said Golden State Tract No. 2 to a point on the Easterly line of Acacia Street; thence Southwardly along the Easterly line of said Acacia Street to a point 576.25 feet Northerly from the Southerly line of Lot 10 of said Golden State Tract No. 2; thence Southwestwardly along the meandering line of a barranoa as shown on a map recorded in Book 13, Page 22, Records of Surveys of Orange County, to a point of Intersection with the Westerly line of the SEi of the SEt of the Fractional NW+ of Section 2, Township 4 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian; thence Southwardly along said Westerly line of the SEi of the SE' of the Fractional NW* of said Section 2 to a point on the Northerly line of Burton Street; thence Westwardly along the Northerly line of said Burton Street to a point of intersection with the Easterly line of Ray- mond Avenue; thence Northwardly along the East line of said Raymond Avenue to a point on the North line of said Section 2; thence continuing Northwardly along the East- erly line of said Raymond Avenue to a point on the North line of Orangethorpe Avenue; thence Westwardly along the North line of said Orangethorpe Avenue to a point of intersection with the North and South center line of Section 3, Township 4 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian produced; thence Southwardly along said center line of Section 3 produced to the extreme North- westerly corner of the present city limits of the City of Anaheim; thence Eastwardly along the present Northerly city limit line 1328.09 feet to a point; thence South wardly along the present city limit line to a point on the center line of East La Palma Avenue; thence Eastwardly along the center line of said East La Palma Avenue and the present city limit line to the point of beginning.
