RESOLUTION NO. 1884.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM ASCERTAINING AND DETER
MINING THE PREVAILING RATE OF WAGES TO
BE PAID FOR EACH CRAFT OR TYPE OF WORKMAN
OR MECHANIC NEEDED FOR A PUBLIC WORKS CON-
TRACT TO CONSTRUCT AND COMPLETE TWO (2)
TUNK SEWER MAINS FOR THE CITY OF ANAHEIM.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find
and determine that public interest and necessity requires the con-
struction of a trunk sewer main commencing at Euclid Avenue and
La Palma Avenue, Orange County, California and extending east along
La Palma to East Street in the City of Anaheim; and a trunk sewer
main commencing at Bali Road and Euclid Avenue in Orange County,
California and extending east on Ball Road to Lemon Street; thence
north on Lemon Street to Vermont Avenue; thence east on Vermont
Avenue to East Street; thence north on East Street to Center Street
in the City of Anaheim, including metering facilities, man holes
and appurtenant work, and
WHEREAS Section 1770 of the Labor Code of the State of
California requires that the City Council ascertain and determine
the general prevailing rate of hourly wages and rates for legal hol-
idays and over -time work on public works in the locality in which
the work is tq be performed, for each craft or type of workman,
laborer or mechanic needed for the execution of such public contract
for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, material and
equipment and performing all work necessary for the execution and
completion of said trunk sewer mains.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim that in accordance with the provisions of Section
1770 of the Labor Code of the State of California that said City
Council has ascertained and does hereby determine the general pre-
vailing rate of hourly wages and rates for legal holidays and
over -time work on public works in the locality in which the work is
to be performed, for each craft or type of laborer, workman or
mechanic needed for the execution of a public work contract or

contracts for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, mater-
ials and equipment and performing all work necessary to construct

The foregoing wage scales are for an eight (8) hour day,
forty (40) hour week, with time and one -half for over -time and
double time for Sundays and the following legal holidays: New Years
Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Armistice Day, Thanksgiving
Day and Christmas Day, and provided further that the pay for foremen
for each eight (8) hour day shall be not less than One ($1.00)
Dollar more than journeyman rate for the craft or workman involved.
Properly indentured apprentices to any of the trades listed
above may be employed upon the project with skilled workmen subject
to the provisions of Section 1777.5 of the California Labor Code,
the wage rate for such apprentices to be determined as provided in
such section.
The foregoing resolution is approved and signed by me this
13th day of November, 1951.

All foreman, unless separately classified, shall be paid for each
ei ht hour aay not less than One and no/100 (1.00) Dollar more
than the journeyman rate for the craft or workman involved.
Apprentices may be employed in conformity with Section
1777.5 of the California Labor Code.
?he rates of per diem wages for each of the various
classifications of work shall be the hereinbefore set forth pre-
vailing rates of hourly wages multiplied by eight. Eight hours
shall constitute a days work, it being understood that in the event
that workmen are employed less than eight hours per /3.y the per
diem wage shall be deemed to be that fraction of the per diem wage
herein established that the number of hours of onployment ears
to eight hours.
The overtime rule establishing the rates of overtime
and holiday work shall be in accordance with the followin:
Where a single shift is oriced, eight hours of continuous employ-
ment, except for lunch periods, shall constitute a days work be-
ginning on and continuing through i'riday each week. There
