A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM, ACCEPTING SEALED PROPOSAL AND
AWARDING CONTRACT TO THE LOWEST RESPONSIBLE
BIDDER FOR THE FURNISHING OF ALL PLANT, LABOR,
SERVICES, MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT AND PERFORM-
ING ALL WORK NECESSARY FOR THE PAINTING OF
FIFTY-TWO (52) MAN HOLES IN THE MAGNOLIA TRUNK
SEWER AND PUMPING PLANT AND FORCE MAIN OF THE
ORANGE COUNTY JOINT OUTFALL SEWER.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim, as contracting
agent for the Cities and Sanitary Districts hereinafter mentioned,
duly published a notice in the Anaheim Bulletin, a newspaper of gen-
eral circulation, inviting sealed proposals for the furnishing of al
plant, labor, services, materials and equipment and performing all
work necessary for the painting of fifty-two (52) Man Holes in the
Magnolia Trunk Sewer and Pumping Plant and Force Main of the Orange
County Joint Outfall Sewer, in strict accordance with the specifica-
tions and drawings on file at the office of the City Clerk, which
notice specified that sealed proposals as specified in said notice
would be received up until 8:00 o'clock P.M. on the 25th day of Sept
ember, 1951, and which said notice did state and declare that, pur-
suant to the provisions of Section 1770 of the Labor Code, the City
Council of the City of Anaheim had ascertained the prevailing rate
of wages for each type of labor needed to execute said contract and
did set forth the prevailing hourly wage scale so ascertained; and
WHEREAS, at a regular meeting of the City Council, held on the 25 h
day of September, 1951, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M. of said dat
the City Council of the City of Anaheim did hold a public hearing fo
the purpose of opening of sealed proposals received up to that time
for furnishing of all plant, labor, servic materials and equipmen
and performing all work necessary for the painting of fifty-two (52)
man holes in the Magnolia Trunk Sewer and Pumping Plant and Force Ma n
of the Orange County Joint Outfall Sewer, all in strict accordance
with the specifications and drawings on file in the office of the Ci y
Mork of the City of Anaheim in the City Hall, Anaheim, California, as
specified in said notice inviting sealed proposals and did at said
time and place omen ell said sealed proposals received, which said
sealed proposals were from the following persons, firms and corpora-
tions, to furnish all said

WHEREAS, the City Council did thereupon refer said bids to the
City Engineerof the City of Anaheim and to the Chief Engineer of
the Joint Outfall Sewer of Orange County for tabulation and report
and said. City Engineer and said Chief Engineer did thereupon retire
for tabulation and report of said bids and did thereafter and
before the adjournment of said meeting return and report to the
City Coutcil their findings, and
WHEREAS, the City Council did thereupon find that the above
mentioned sealed proposals were the only proposals received by the
City of Anaheim for furnishing all plant, labor, sevices, material
and equipment and performing all work necessary for tale painting of
said fifty-two (52) man holes in the Magnolia Trunk Sewer and. Pump-
ing Plant and. Force Main of the Orange County Joint Outfall Sewer
and did further find that the sealed proposal of J. F. Just, 725i
E. 4th St., Long Beach, California for furnishing said plant,
labor, services, materials and equipment and performing said work
as specified in said notice inviting sealed proposals is the lowest
responsible bid received for the furnishing thereof.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Anaheim, as contracting agent for the Cities of Anaheim, Fuller-
ton and. Orange and for the Buena Park, Garden Grove, La Habra and
Placentia Sanitary Districts, that the sealed proposal of J. F.
Just for furnishing all plant, labor, services and materials and
equipment and performing all work necessary for the painting of
fifty-two (52) Man Holes in the Magnolia Trunk Sewer and Pumping
Plant and Force Main of the Orange County Joint Outfall Sewer, all
in strict accordance with the specifications and drawings on file
at the office of the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim in the City

inviting sealed proposals and in accordance with the other contract
documents as specified in said notice, for the sum of $1695.00 is
the lowest responsible bid received as aforesaid and that the same
be and is hereby accepted and that contract for furnishing all said
plant, labor, services, materials and equipment and performing all
work as specified in said notice inviting sealed proposals, be
awarded to said J. F. Just upon the terms and conditions specified
in said notice inviting sealed proposals and that the Mayor and the
City Clerk of the City of Anaheim be and they are hereby authorized
to execute a contract for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim as
such contracting agent, with said. J. F. Just for furnishing all sai
plant, labor, services, materials and equipment and performing all
work necessary for the painting of fifty-two (52) man holes in the
Magnolia Trunk Sewer and Pumping Plant and Force Main of the Orange
County Joint Outfall Sewer, in strict accordance with the specifi-
cations and drawings on file at the office of the City Clerk of the
City of Anaheim, and the notice inviting such sealed proposals and
this resolution and the contract in reouired form specified in said
notice, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said J. F. Just, awarded such
contract as herein provided, shall be and is hereby required to
execute a contract in the required for with the City of Anaheim as
contracting agent for said. Cities and Sanitary Districts, upon the
terms and conditions specified in said notice inviting sealed pro-
posals and the proposal submitted by said J. F. Just and in strict
accordance with the plans and specifications, and that said J. F.
Just shall be and is hereby required to furnish a surety bond in an
amount equal to 100% one hundred percent of said contract price, as
security for the faithful performance of said contract and a separat
surety bond in an amount equal to fifty (50) percent of such contrac
price as security for payment of all persons performing labor or

vices, materials and equipment and performing of all work necessary

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said contract, bonds, and contract
documents be executed and furnished to the City of Anaheim as such
contracting agent within a period of thirty (30) days from date
hereof.
