ANAHEIM EMPLOYING C. V. TAORMINA ANP WY. STEPANIAN
AS INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS TO COLLECT, PICK-NP
k DISPOSE OF ALL iiUB9ISH AND TRASH ALONG CERTAIN
STREETS IN 'HT CITY SF AAREIM; FIXING TRFIR CM-
}NSA TIN AND AUTHORIZING TT IT MAYOR AND CITY CLERK
TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THEM 7.0R AND ON
BPHALF OF THF CITY OF ANAEEIM.
'HFRFAL, C. V. Taormina and 'm. Stepanian have submitted
a proposal to the 1.ty for the collection and disposal of rubbish
and trash along both sides of the following described streets and
alleys;
Alley north of Center Street from AtChison Street
to Palm Street.
Alley south of Center Strept from Atchison to
Palm Street. (Alley and Oak Street are same
alignment).
Los Angeles Street from Broadway To Thter Street.
Alley east of Los Angeles Street between Broadway
and Santa Ana Street.
Los Angeles Street from Chartres to Sycamore Street.
Alleys east and west of Los Angeles Street from
Sycamore to North Street.
Lemon Street--Broadway to Oak Street.
Broadway --Los Angeles to Lemon Street.
daily six days per week for a period of six months for the sum of
300.00 per month. Such collection and. disposal of said rubbish
and trash to be by truck similar to those used by the City, and
ITI-RFAS, the City Council finds that the acceptance of
said offer and proposal would be for the benefit and best interest
of the City of Anaheim, and economical, and that such offer should
be accepted;
NOW, THITREFORE, B7 IT RDEOLVLD BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ANAEFIM that the proposal submitted by said C. V.
Taormina and Wm. Stepanian be accepted. and that they be employed
as independent contractors for a period of six months to collect,
pick-up, remove and. dispose of all rubbish and. trash upon and along
the streets and alleys hereinbefore mentioned and described, and

disposal of said rubbish and trash shall be done six days per week
during saia term of six months and shall be by motor truck similar
to those used by the City of Anaheim and that the time of collectio
and pick -up shall be between 6 A.. and 10 A.g.; that the disposal
of paper and cardboard shall be by baling at the Vermont Street
dump; that all other rubbish and trash shall be transported weekly,
or at intervals as required by the City Fngineer, from the Vermont
Street dump to the County dump; that said contractors shall maintai
the area used by them at the Vermont Street dump in a manner satis-
factory to the City Tang;ineer, and
BE IT <'13RTHER RThSOLVFD that said contractors be, and they
are hereby, required to furnish to the City of Anaheim afaith.ful
performance bond in the sum of Two Thousand ($2,000) Dollars to
guarantee the faithful performance of said contract, and

be collected and removed from all places of business along both
sides of Center Street from,tchison to Palm Streets and along both
sides of Los Angeles Street pater to North Streets, and shall
include such places as Allen's TTarket, Roquet's Market and the
Anaheim Bulletin, and

are hereby, required to carry and maintain compensation insurance
satisfactory to the City of Anaheim covering all of their employees
and public liability and property damage insura.ce in the

mount of
$50,000 $100,000 upon each vehicle operated by them, and propert
damage in the amount of $5,000 --25,000 upon each vehicle operated
by them.
PND BE IT 7TIRTiTET-i RiTSOLVED that said contractors shall
receive as compensation for such contract and work, the sum of
$300.00 per month, payable on the lst day of the month, commencing
on the lst day of June, 1951, and upon the First day of each and

every month thereafter during said period of six months;

performed, that said contractors shall h:-ve and they are hereby
given an option to renew said contract upon like terms and condition
as herein set forth or as may be mutually agreed upon.

clerk be, and they are hereby, authorized and empowered to enter
into a contract for and on behalf of the City of .Anaheim 1,ith said
contractos for the doing; of sada fork upon the terms and conditions

finding and determining that the acceptance of said offer and pro-
posal would be for the benefit and best interest of the City of
Anaheim and authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to enter into

an agreement for and on behalf of said City upon the term and
conditions set forth in said resolution.
THEIW in consideration of the mutual covenants and
promises of the parties hereto,
IT IS FITTRFBY AGRETD BY Ni) BETNTEN THEM f S
1. That the said 'Parties of the Second Fart are hereby em-
ployed as independent contractors for a period of six (6) months
to collect, pick-up, remove and dispose of all rubbish and trash
upon and along both sides of the streets and alleys hereinabove
mentioned and ueecribed.
2. That said collection, removal -nd disposal of said rubbis
and trash shall be done six (6) days per wee8 during said term of
six months and shall be by motor truck similer to those used by
the City of Anaheim and that the time of collection and pick-up
shall be between 6 A.M. and 10 A.M.; that the disposal of paper

Atchison to Palm Streets and along both sides of Los Angeles Stree
from Water to North Streets, and shall include such places as
Allen's Market, Roquet's Market and the Anaheim Bulletin.
5. That said contractors be, and they are hereby required
