1951-18311 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 RESOLUTION NO. 1831 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM REQUESTING GRANT OF HIGHWAY USERS' TAX FUND FOR REPAIRING SOUTH PALM STREET. WPRUNAS, the City of Anaheim, a City of the Sixth Class, in the County of Orange, desires to repair South Palm Street, a street within the incorporated limits of the City of Anaheim, the nature and extent of the contemplated project being more fully described hereafter; WHEREAS, there is attached hereto, marked "EXHIBIT A" and made a part hereof, a sketch showing the location of South Paim Street and its relationship to the principal highways of the County of Orange in said area; and WHEREAS, Section 2150 of the Streets and Highway Code authorizes a County, i it so desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of California Highway Users' Tax Fund for aid to cities in the improvement, construction or repair of a street within a city, provided that the Board of Supervisors of such County, determines that the project is in the general County interest; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, that the City of Anaheim hereby requests the County of Orange for a grant of aid i the sum of Fourteen Thousand Three Hdndred Fifty —Three and 01/100 Dollars ($14,353.01) out of the County's apportionment of the California Highway Users' Tax Fund, the amount requested to be used exclusitely for the following purposes: 1. The repair of South Paim Street, situated as designated on "Exhibit A" hereof. 2. The nature and extent of the project and the estimated cost thereof are substantially as follows: The portion of South Palm Street which is in the wort state of disrepair is from Vermont Avenue to West Broadway and was paved in 1930 with a 4" Asphaltic Concrete base and a 2" asphalt wearing surface, the surface has now become rough and uneven and is gradually wearing through and will become a traffic hazard if allowed to continue. It is proposed to resurface the area from the north property line of West Vermont Avenue to the south property line of West Broadway with 2" Plant Mix. Width of improvement is 45.5 feet and length 3775 feet involving an estimated cost of $14,353.01, as follows: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange be and is hereby requested to find that the repair of South Palm Street in the manner aforesaid is in the general County interest in that: It is a street of major importance running from the south city limits of Anaheim, connecting with Earbor Boulevard at this point and thence running northwardly through the City of Anaheim and connecting with U. S. Highway 101. This street is now carrying a major portion of the traffic from the northern areas of the County to the beaches. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the grant of the aid hereby requested is con- tingent upon an independent finding by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange that the purpose for which aid is hereby sought is in the general County interest. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that it is understood that upon acceptance by the City of Anaheim of any grant which may be made by the County of Orange, pursuant to this request, this Resolution, the Resolution of the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange specifying the terms and conditions of the grant, and any and all laws applicable, shall constitute the Agreement between the City of Anaheim and the County of Orange respecting the grant. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND ORDERED, that the City Clerk of the City of Ana- heim be and he is hereby directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange, State of California.
