Hi City council,
On January 13, the Anaheim City Council will cons ider a 450–600 unit high-dens ity apartment project at the Fes tival Shopping Center, located in a Very High Fire
Hazard Severity Zone with limited evacuation routes .
I URGE YOU TO VOTE NO!
Jus t months ago, City Council denied a s imilar 498-unit project after an EIR s howed evacuation times already exceeded 3 hours , calling the added dens ity life-
threatening. This new propos al is les s than one mile away, with no infrastructure improvements, and raises the s ame s erious s afety ris ks .
State hous ing mandates do not override public s afety. Evacuation gridlock is real, and we’ve s een the cons equences in Paradis e and Lahaina. Pleas e, cons ider
addres s ing the evacuation routes and lack of infras tructure BEFORE adding in more cars and people.
