Dear Ms. Meeks,
I am OPPOSED to the Festival Center Development Project!!!
My BIGGEST concern is evacuating during a fire. Our area is located in a Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone. Timely
evacuation is currently a known problem. The residents don't need additional cars on Santa Ana Canyon Road during
normal days, but imagine what it's like when you have to evacuate for a fire. Sitting still, in traffic, while trees and
brush are burning all around, fearing for your life and the lives of your family. I've been in that situation, likely you have
not.
Approving a major new development without a proven, effective evacuation plan places residents at increased risk.
Public safety must be resolved before additional density to the area is considered.
For these reasons, I urge the City to deny or delay approval of the Festival Center until traffic implications and
evacuation/emergency access issues are fully addressed.
Thank you,
Katherine Novich
