Opposition to Festival Center – Public Safety and Evacuation Concerns

Dear Mayor and City Council,
I am writing to formally oppose the proposed Festival Center project due to unresolved publi c safety and evacuation concerns.
This area already suffers from limited ingress and egress and is located within a Very Hi gh Fire Hazard Severi ty Zone.
Evacuation is currently a known problem, and the City has not demonstrated that the Festival C enter wi ll i mprove evacuati on
safety for existing residents. Proposed traffic or circulation measures have not been shown to meaningfully address evacuation
reliability under emergency conditions.
Approving a major new development without a proven, effective evacuation plan places exi sti ng residents at i ncreased ri sk.
Public safety must be resolved before additional density is considered.
For these reasons, I urge the City to deny or delay approval of the Festival Center unti l evacuation and emergency access issues
are fully and transparently addressed.
