RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE
USE OF LA PALMA PARK AND STADIUM FOR
SPRING TRAINING FOR THE SEASON OF
1949 BY THE SACRAMENTO BASEBALL
ASSOCIATION, INC.
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim, a Municipal Corporation, owns
and maintains that certain park known and designated as LA PALMA
PARK, and
WHEREAS, the Sacramento Baseball Association, Inc. of the
Pacific Coast League, desires the use of said park for its spring
training season of 1949, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim finds that
the use of said park by said Sacramento Baseball Association, Inc.
will not conflict with the use of said park by any other organiza-
tion or by the City, and that its use by said Sacramento Baseball
Association, Inc. will be of public benefit;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM that the Sacramento Baseball Association, Inc. of
the Pacific Coast League, be and it is hereby given the right to
use said La Palma Park and stadium for its spring training for
the season of 1949 upon the following terms and conditions:
1. That said Sacramento Baseball Association, Inc. pay to
the City of Anaheim as rental for the use of said park and stadium
during said spring training season of 1949 the sum of $10.00 for
each and every day during said season commencing on the date of
arrival of said Sacramento Baseball Club during their occupancy
and use of said park and stadium to and including their date of
departure and the release of said premises to the City of Anaheim
which said rental shall be paid upon demand of the City of
Anaheim.
2. That the City of Anaheim shall maintain said baseball
park in a neat manner.

3. The City of Anaheim does hereby retain all rights to grant,
2 1 concessions and concession rights to any person or organization

3 it may choose.
4. The Sacramento Baseball Association, Inc. shall carry
property damage insurance in the sum of 5,000.00; public
liability insurance in the sums of 25,000.00 and $100,000.00;
and adequate compensation insurance satisfactory to the City of
Anaheim, all in companies satisfactory to the City of Anaheim,
during said spring training season, all of which policies of
insurance shall contain a clause or clauses protecting the City
of Anaheim against liability or damages arisng out of the use of
said park and stadium by said Sacramento Baseball Association, I
5. That during said spring training season, the said
Sacramento Baseball Association, le. shall schedule and play
as many games as possible with major league baseball clubs train-
ing in California, in said park and that not less than two games
with Pacific Coast League towns shall be played in said park
during said spring training season, and
BE 17 '4'URT1 RESOLVED that the right granted to the
Sacramento Easeball Association, Inc. for the use of said park and
stadium shall not be exclusive, but the City of Anaheim does
hereby reserve the riht to grant the use of said park or stadium
to other irms or corporations, the use of which shall not
conflict with the use made of said park and stadium by said
Sacramento Baseball Association, Inc.
'3E IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk be
and they are hereby authorized and empowered to enter into a
written agreement with the Sacramento Baseball Association, Inc.
in accordance with this resolution.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved In- me this
25th day of January, 1949.
