A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM ACKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT OF A PETIT-
ION FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED
TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AND GIVING
NOTICE OF SUCH PROPOSED ANNEXATION, DESCRIBING
THE BOUNDARIES OF THE TERRI TORY PROPOSED TO BE
ANNEXED, THE DAY, HOUR, AND PLACE WHEN ANY PER-
SON OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN SUCH TERRITORY
MAY APPEAR AND SHOW CAUSE WHY SUCH TERRITORY
SHOULD NOT BE ANNEXED AND GIVING NOTICE THEREOF.
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did on
the 8th day of July, 1947, receive written petitions asking that
certain new territory described in said petitions be annexed
to said City of Anaheim, and
WHEREAS, said territory proposed to be annexed to said City
of Anaheim is situated in the County of Orange, State of Californi
and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim and is uninhabited terri-
tory, and said petitions contained a description of said territory
in words and figures as hereinafter in this Resolution described,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that said petitions are
signed by owners of not less than one fourth (1/4) of the area
and not less than one fourth (1/4) of the assessed valuation of
the land in such territory proposed to be annexed, according to
the last preceding equalized assessment roll, and
WHEREAS, said new territory proposed to be annexed to said
City of Anaheim does not form a part of any municipal corporation
an6 it appears that said territory is uninhabited, and
WHEREAS, the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be
annexed to the City of Anaheim are as follows, to -wit:
A tract of land in the Si of the SW. of Section 9,
Township 4 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base and
Meridian, and. the Si of a portion of Lincoln Avenue, in the
County of Orange, State of California, and more partidularly
described as follows:
Beginning at the quarter section corner on the south

line of Section 9, which corner is also the corner of the
present north and west city limit lines of the City of
Anaheim; thence northwardly along the north and south
center line of said Section 9, and along the present
west city limit line of said City of Anaheim, a distance
of 825 feet, more or less, to a point on the south line
of Lot 5, Anaheim Homestead Tract, as shown on a map recorded
in Book 26, page 10, Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles
County, California; thence westwardly along the south line
of Lots 5, 6, 7, and 8, of said Anaheim Homestead Tract and
said line extended to the westerly line of Loara Street;
thence southwardly along said westerly line of Loara Street
to a point 96.02 feet south of the northerly line of the
Si of the SWi of the SW4 of said Section 9; thence S 88 28'
36" W, a distance of 503.94 feet, to a point on the present
Northeasterly property line of Manchester Avenue; thence
S 10 40' 12" E., a distance of 95.54 feet, to a point
which is the intersection of the present southwesterly
property line of Manchester Avenue and the original north-
easterly line of the Southern Pacific Railroad Company's
right -of -way; thence S 32° 46' 30" W., a distance of 100
feet, to a point on the southwesterly line of said Southern
Pacific Railroad Company's right -of -way; thence Si 57° 13'
30" E, along the southwesterly line of said Railroad right -of
way, a distance of 253.21 feet, more or less, to a point
which is 416.80 feet, measured along said right -of -way line,
from the intersection of said southwesterly right-of-way
line of said Railroad and the center line of Loara Street;
thence S 1° 02' 45" E., a distance of 280.38 feet, more or
less, to a point on the south line of said Section 9 which
line is also the center line of Lincoln Avenue, which point
is 346.0 feet westwardly, measured along said center line,
from the center line of Loara Street; thence continuing
S 1 02' 45 "F, a distance of 30 feet to a point on the
southerly property line of said Lincoln Avenue; thence
eastwardly along said southerly property line of said Lincoln
Avenue a distance of 647.58 feet, more or less, to a point
on the westerly city limit line of said City of Anaheim,
which line is also the northeasterly line of the Southern
Pacific Railroad Company's right -of -way; thence N 57 13'
30" W. along said westerly city limit line and the said
northeasterly line of said Railroad right -of -way, a distance
of 54.58 feet, more or less, to a point on the southerly
line of said Section 9, which line is also the present city
limit line; thence eastwardly along said southerly line of
said Section 9 and along said present city limit line a
distance of 1062.81 feet, more or less, to the point of
beginning.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TH$
CITY OF ANAHEIM that notice of such proposed annexation be and
the same is hereby given, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 12th day of August, 1947, at
the hour of 8 o'clock P. at the City Gouncil Chambers in the
City Hall in the City of Anaheim be and the same is hereby fixed
as the day, hour and place when and where any person owning real

property within such territory so proposed to be annexed, and
having any objections to the proposed annexation, may appear
before the City Council of the City of Anaheim and show cause
why such territory should not be so annexed; that all persons
having any objections to such proposed annexation are hereby
notified to appear on said day at said hour and place to show
cause, if any they have, why such territory should not be so
annexed, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and he is
hereby authorized and directed to publish or cause a copy of
this Resolution to be published at least once a week for two
successive weeks prior to the 12th day of August, 1947, in
the Anaheim Bulletin, a newspaper of general circulation, publishe
in the City of Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by me this
day of July, 1947.
