RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE GRANTING OF A LICENSE
TO A. M. THOMAS, AS MANAGER OF THE BUS DEPOT
AT 217 SOUTH LOS ANGELES STREET, TO USE THE
REAR PORTION OF THE ANAHEIM CITY LIBRARY PROP-
ERTY FOR AN ENTRANCE AND /OR EXIT FOR THE PACIFIC
ELECTRIC AND GREYHOUND BUSSES, AND AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR AND THE CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID
LICENSE AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, A. M. THOMAS is the Agent and Manager of the Bus
Depot and Station located at 217 South Los Angeles Street,
Anaheim, California, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore required the Pacific
Electric Corporation to use the bus station between the hours of
6 :30 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. daily except Sundays, and from 6:30 A.M.
to 12 M on Sundays, and
'WHEREAS, the Pacific Electric Corporation has requested
permission to use the Westerly thirteen feet of the City Library
property, as more particularly described hereafter, as an
entrance and /or exit to said station, and
WHEREAS, the Greyhound Lines wish to use said property as
an entrance and /or exit to said bus depot;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM that A. M.Thomas, Agent and Manager of said
bus depot and station be and he is hereby granted a license for
a term of one year commencing the first day of June, 1947 and
ending on the 31st day of May, 1948 unless sooner terminated,
solely for use as an entrance and /or exit for Pacific Electric
and Greyhound busses in entering and /or leaving the bus station
and depot maintained and operated by said Licensee, and subject
to all the terms, conditions and reservations therein, upon,
over and across the following described real property located in
the City of Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California and
more particularly described as follows, to -wit:

1 The Westerly 13 feet of the portions of the original
building lot No. 45, as shown on a map of the lands of
2 Anaheim, recorded in book 4 of Deeds, pages 629 and 630,.
Records of Los Angeles County, California, which portion
3 is described as follows, to-wit: Beginning at a point on
the East line of said Lot 45, which point is 25.25 feet
4 North of the Southeast corner of said lot, and running
thence North along the East line of said lot to the North.
5 east corner thereof; thence West along the North line of
said lotto the Northwest corner thereof; thence South
6 along the West line of said lot to ::a point 25.25 feet North
of the Southwest corner thereof, and thence East and parallel
7 with the South boundary thereof to the point of beginning.
8 AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk
9 be and they are hereby authorized to execute said License Agree
10 meat, and
11 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said Licensee shall pay to the
12 City of Anaheim the sum of Ten ($10.00) Dollars per year in
13 advance for said license.
14 The foregoing Resolution is signed and approved by me this
15 24th day of June, 1947.

do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was passed and
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council
of the City of Anaheim, held on the 24th day of June, 1947,
by the following vote of the members thereof:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Pearson, Van Wagonez",Boney, Heying,
and Pace.
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None.
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None.
And I further certify that the Mayor of the City of Anaheim
signed and approved said Resolution on the 24th day of June,1947.

LICENSE AGREEMENT
W I T N E S S E T H
Party of the First Part, herein-
after referred to as LICENSOR,
Party of the Second Part, herein
after referred to as LICENSEE,
That the Licensor, for and in consideration of the faithful
performance by the Licensee of the terms, covenants and agreements
hereinafter set forth to be kept and performed by the Licensee,
does hereby give to the Licensee the right to use that certain
real property hereinafter described for the term of one year
commencing on the first day of June, 1947 and ending on the 31 day
of May, 1948, unless sooner terminated as herein provided,solely
for the purposes hereinafter specified, upon and subject to the
reservations, terms, covenants and conditions herein set forth.
The real property hereinabove referred to is located in the
City of Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California, and is
more particularly referred to and described as follows, to -wit:
The Westerly 13 feet of the portion of the original
building lot No. 45, as shown on a map of the lands of
Anaheim, recorded in book 4 of Deeds, pages 629 and 630,
Reoords of Los Angeles County, California, which portion
is described as follows, to -wit: Beginning at a point on
the East line of said Lot 45, which point is 25.25 feet
North of the Southeast corner of said lot, and running
thence North along the East line of said lot to the North-
east corner thereof; thence west along the North line of
said lot to the Northwest corner thereof; thence South
along the West line of said lot to a point 25.25 feet North
of the Southwest corner thereof, and thence East and parallel
with the South boundary thereof to the point of beginning,.
SUBJECT to conditions, restrictions, reservations, exceptions
easements and rights herein referred to.

1. Licensor reserves for itself, its successors and assigns,
the right to maintain, repair, replace, and /or inspect said
property, and the right to use said property or any portion
thereof for any purpose that said Licensor may desire in connec-
tion with its business, together with the right to enter upon
said premises or any portion thereof at all times for any or
all of the above mentioned purposes; all of which rights may be
exercised without the payment of any compensation or damages
resulting from the exercise of said rights or any thereof.
2. The Licensee agrees to use the above described premises
only as an entrance and exit for Pacific Electric and Greyhound
busses in entering and leaving the bus station and depot main-
tained and operated by Licensee.
3. The Licensee agrees to pay the Licensor the sum of
$10.00 upon the execution and delivery of this License as annual
license fee for the period for which said License is granted.
4. The Licensee further agrees not to erect, place or
maintain on said property any building or structure of any kind,
and that he will not commit any waste or damage, nor suffer any
to be done, and that he will at all times keep said property
free from all accumulation of waste and inflammable material,
and that he will keep said premises clean and free from rubbish
and debris in a manner satisfactory to the Licensor.
5. That he will obey all laws, ordinanoes, rules and
regulations applicable to the care and use of said premises.
6. The Licensee hereby agrees to save harmless,and indemnify
the Licensor from and against all claims, loss, damage, actions,
or liabilities resulting in any. manner whatsoever, directly or
indirectly, by reason of this license or the use or occupancy of
the premises by Licensee or any person claiming under him.
7. IT I8 FURTHER AGREED that the Licensor may, if it so
elects, terminate this license at any time prior to the time
thereof by giving thirty days' previous notice in writing for

that purpose to the licensee and by personal service of such
notice, or by depositing the same, enclosed in an envelope, in
the Postoffioe, directed to the Licensee, and upon the expiration
of the thirty days, this license shall wholly cease and terminate.
8. If the Licensee shall make default in the performance
of any agreement required by him to be performed, said Licensor
shall, without notice or demand, enter upon said premises and
terminate this License and remove all persons or property there-
from and all moneys theretofore paid by Licensee to Licensor
shall be forfeited as liquidated damages, without prejudice to
any remedy which might otherwise be resorted to or used for any
preceding breach of any agreement set forth in this instrument.
9. This License is personal to the Lieensee,and Licensee
shall not assign or transfer this License or any privilege
thereunder in whole or in part and any attempt so to do shall
be void and shall confer no right on any third party.
10. Upon termination of this License by the expiration of
the terms thereof or otherwise, the Licensee agrees to peaceably
quit and surrender the premises to the Licensor in good order
and condition.
11. This License may be renewed or extended by mutual
agreement of the parties hereto.
III WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties have caused this instrument
to be executed in duplicate as of the day and year herein first
above written.
