2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING *THE DESTRUCT
3 ION OF CERTAIN CITY RECORDS NO LONGER
REQUIRED.

5 WHEREAS, Section 1225 of the Government Code provides,
6 "Unless otherwise provided by law, the head
7 of any City Department, with the approval by
8 Resolution of the legislative body of such
9 City, and consent in writing of its City
10 Attorney, is authorized to destroy or other
11 wise to dispose of any recordsof such City
12 under his charge, more than five years old, after
13 they have served their purpose and are no longer
14 required and
15 WHEREAS, it appearing that the City Clerk, City Comptroller,
16 the City Auditor and Chief of Police, as heads of their respective
17 departments have in their possession records more than five years
18 old that have served their purpose and are no longer required,and
19 WHEREAS, it further appearing that said old records occupy
20 needed space and should, therefore, be destroyed;
21 NOW, THEREFORE,
22 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
23 that the City Clerk and City Auditor of the City of Anaheim be
24 and they are hereby authorized to destroy all ballots, election
25 results, bank statements and cancelled checks, payroll distribut-
26 ion sheets and daily time slips more than five years old and no
27 Longer required, amd
28 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Comptroller be and she
29 is hereby authorized to destroy all public service maintenance
30 records and payment stubs, old ledger cards and meter boxes of
31 public services more than five years old and no longer required,
32 and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief of Police of the City
of Anaheim be and he is hereby authorized to destroy all police
daily records more than five years old and no longer required,and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that no record affecting the title to
real property or liens thereon, the records of any Court, any
record required to be kept by State Statute or any record less
than five years old, or the Minutes, Ordinances or Resolutions
of the City Council of the City or Anaheim or any Board or
Commission thereof shall be destroyed.
The foregoing resolution is signed and approved by me
this Rth day of April, 1947.
