Mayor Aitken and Members of the Anaheim City Council,
I am writing today to urge for transparency and accountability regarding the tragic death of Anaheim resident Albert Arzola.
Albert, a 19-year-old who recently graduated from Katella High School, was working in our city and aspired to a career in culinary arts. He was a
beloved son, family member, and friend.
On the night he died, according to available accounts, Albert was pursued to his home by two officers from an unmarked vehicle and was fatally
shot. This loss of a young life with a bright future is a profound tragedy for his family and our community.
To understand the full circumstances of this incident, I request that the City Council ensure the immediate public release of the complete and
unedited body camera footage and audio from all officers involved. Providing this documentation is a necessary first step toward public
understanding and transparency.
The community has a right to know what happened. I urge you to take this action to provide answers to Albert’s family and to the public.
