RESOLUTION NO. 1457
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA ACTING BY AND
THROUGH THE FEDERAL PUBLIC HOUSING AUTHORITY AND THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM FOR ACtUIRING, DEVELOPING, ADMINISTER-
ING AND REMOVING EMERGENCY TEMPORARY HOUSING UNDER THE
PROVISIONS OF TITLE V OF THE LANHAM ACT.
WHEREAS, there exists in the City of Anaheim an acute shortage
of temporary housing for veterans and their families and families of
Service men as a result of war time conditions; and
WHEREAS, the housing emergency for such persons daily grows
more acute; and
WHEREAS, application has been made to the Federal Public Hous-
ing Authority for 30 temporary dwelling units, or as many units as
may be made available for housing of veterans of World War II and
their families, and for families of Service men distressed by reason
of inability to find adequate housing; and
WHEREAS, in order to acquire said temporary dwelling units it
is necessary that the City of Anaheim enter into an Agreement with
Publi
the United States of America acting by and through the Federal/Hous-
ing Authority for as many dwelling units as may be made available to
the City of Anaheim by the Government for the above purpose, pursuan
to said Title V of the Lanham Act and applicable rules and regulatio s
issued thereunder.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM:
1. That an Agreement substantially in the form set out in Sec-
tion 3 hereunder between the United States of America and the City
of Anaheim be and the same is hereby approved and accepted both as
to form and substance; that the Mayor of the City of Anaheim be and
he is hereby authorized and directed to execute seven counterparts
of such Agreement substantially in the form set forth herein in the
name of the City of Anaheim; and that the City Clerk be and he is
hereby authorized and directed to impress the corporate seal of the

City of Anaheim on each copy of said seven counterparts thereof and
attest the same.
2. That the City Clerk be and he is hereby authorized and
directed to forward said seven counterparts of said Agreement as so
i
executed, together with three certified copies of extracts from the
minutes of this meeting showing the adoption of and containing this
resolution, to the regional office of the Federal Public Housing
Authority.
3. The form of said Agreement referred to in Section 1 hereof
is in words and figures substantially as follows:

Said contract, consisting of eleven pages, is hereby ineorporat
ed herein by reference.
4. WHEREAS, it is necessary for the immediate peace, health
and safety of the City of Anaheim that this Resolution become im-
mediately operative, an emergency is declared to exist and this
Resolution shall become effective and operative immediately upon
its adoption and approval by the City Council and Mayor of the City
of Anaheim this 2nd day of April, 1946.
