POSED TO BE ANNEXED TO SAID CITY OF ANAHEIM, PROVIDING FOR THE HOLd-
ING OF SUCH ELECTION AND SUBMITTING TO THE ELECTORS RESIDING IN
SUCH TERRITORY, THE QUESTION WHETHER SUCH TERRITORY SHALL BE ANNEXED
TO, INCORPORATED IN, AND MADE A PART OF SAID CITY OF ANAHEIM, AND
THE PROPERTY IN SUCH TERRITORY BE, AFTER SUCH ANNEXATION, SUBJECT
TO TAXATION EQUALLY WITH TIE PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, TO
PAY ITS PRO RATA PORTION, BASED UPON ASSESSED VALUATION OF ALL THE
BONDED INDEBTEDNESS OF SAID CITY OF ANAHEIM OUTSTANDING ON JANUARY
29, 1946, 0R THERETOFORE AUTHORIZED; DESCRIBING SAID TERRITORY BY
THE NAME OF "EAST ANAHEIM ANNEXATION ESTABLISHING AN ELECTION PRE-
CINCT AND POLLING PLACE IN SAID TERRITORY, APPOINTING THE OFFICERS
OF ELECTION FOR SAID SPECIAL ELECTION AND PROVIDING FOR THE POSTING
OF NOTICE OF SUCH ELECTION.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did on
t he 29th day of January, 1946, receive a written petition asking
t hat certain new territory described in said petition be annexed to
said City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, said territory so proposed to be annexed to said
ity of Anaheim is situated in the County of Orange, State of Cali
ornia, and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim, and said petition
ontains a description of said territory in words and figures as
ereafter in this resolution described; and
WHEREAS, the said petition is signed by one fourth and
ore in number of the qualified electors residing within the aforesai
erritory described in said petition as shwwn by the registration of

Whereas, said new territory proposed to be annexed to said

WHEREAS, on February 5, 1946, the City Council of the City
of Anaheim did adopt its resolution No.

WHEREAS, said City Council did, pursuant to its said
on February 26, 1946, at 7 o'clock P. M.
at the Council Chamber of the City Hall of the City of Anaheim at
204 East Center Street, Anaheim, California, conduct and hold a
hearing whereby owners of property proposed to be annexed having
objections to such proposed annexation, might apr and show cause
why such territory should not be so annexed; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that at such hearing that
protest was not made by owners of a majority of the separate par-
cels of property within the territory proposed to be annexed; and
WHEREAS, said petition contains a request that the City
Council of said City of Anaheim call a special election to be held
in said territory thereby proposed to be annexed to said City, givi
notice thereof required by law, and submit to the electors residin4
in said territory the question whether said new territory be an-
nexed to, incorporated in, and made a part of said City of Anaheim
and said petition also contains a request that the question to be
submitted at such special election to the electors residing in said
new territory shall be, whether said new territory shall be annexe
i wzporated in, and made a part of said City of Anaheim, and the
property therein be, after such annexation, subject to taxation eq
with the property within such City of Anaheim, to pay its pro rata
pnytion, based upon assessed valuation, of all the bonded indebted
ness of said City of Anaheim outstanding at the date of the
filing fo said petition, to -wit: January 29, 1946, and theretofore
authorized.

SECTION ONE. That a special election be, and the same
is hereby called to be held on Thursday the twenty eighth day of
March, 1946, in said new territory herein before mentioned, and in
the aforesaid petition described and proposed to be annexed to the
City of Anaheim, for the purpose of submitting to the electors
residing in said new territory the question whether the said new
territory shall be annexed to, incorporated in, and made a part
of said City of Anaheim, and the property therein be, after such
annexation, subject to taxation equally with the property within
said City of Anaheim to pay its pro rata portion, based upon
assessed valuation, of all the bonded indebtedness of said City

is hereby called and shall be held is situated in the County of
Orange, State of California, and the boundaries of which are
described as follows:
j Beginning at a point on the easterly city limit line of
the City of Anaheim, Orange County, California, which point is the
intersection of the northerly prolongation of the easterly line of
Lot 4, Anaheim Extension, as shown on Map of Survey made by William
Hamel, Licensed Surveyor, and filed for record in the office of the
County Recorder of Los Angeles County, California, with the center
line of Sycamore Street as said street is shown on said map of Ana
heim Extension, which street is also known as East Sycamore Street
within the city limits of said City; thence Southwardly along said
city limit line and along the northerly prolongation of the easterl,
line of said Lot 4 and along the easterly line of said Lot 4 to its
intersection with the east and west center line of said Lot 4;

the East and West center line of said Lot 4 to its intersection

and in said petition described is hereby designated as "East
Anaheim Annexation" and said territory shall be indicated and
referred to by the name of "East Anaheim Annexation" upon the

of such annexation of said territory to the City of Anaheim is
submitted to the electors of said territory, and the name of "East
.Anaheim Annexation" whenever used in the notice of said special
election hereby called in said territory, and in any and all

and in said petition described and so proposed by said petition
to be annexed to said City of Anaheim.
That upon the bAUots to be used at said special election
and in addition to the matters required by law, the proposition
to be submitted and to be printed on the election ballots in the
form required by law; shall be whether or not that certain ter-
ritory designated as "East Anaheim Annexation" shall be annexed to,
incorporated in and made a part of the City of Anaheim a municipal
corporation, and the property therein be, after such annexation,
subject to taxation equally with the property within said City of
Anaheim to pay its pro rata portion, based upon assessed valuation,,
of all the bonded indebtedness of said City of Anaheim outstanding
on January twenty -nine, 1946, or theretofore authorized.
SECTION FOUR: That for the purpose of holding and
conducting said special election hereby called, one voting pre
cinct designated as East Anaheim Annexation Precinct is hereby
established and the place at which the polls will be opened in
said new territory hereinbefore described and proposed to be
annexed to the City of Anaheim is hereby established and designated
and the following named election officers therefor are hereby
appointed to -wit:

That said election precinct hereby established comprises
all of said above described territory proposed to be annexed to
the City of Anaheim.
SECTION FIVE: That the ballots to be used at said
special election, the opening and closing of the polls and the
holding and conducting of said special election shall be in con—
formity, as near as may be, with the laws of the State of Cali—
fornia, concerning general elections, except as otherwise prescribE
in an act of the Legislature of the State of California, entitled
"An Act to provide for the alteration of the boundaries of and for
the annexation of territory to municipal corporations, for the
incorporation of such annexed territory in and as a part thereof,
and for the districting, government and municipal control of such
annexed territory," approved June 11, 1913, and all acts amenda—
tory thereof and supplementary thereto. The qualified electors re
siding in said new territory so proposed to be annexed to said Cit
of Anaheim are hereby directed to vote upon the question of the
annexation of said territory to said City of Anaheim by stamping
a cross (x) in the voting square after the printed word "Yes" on
the ballots to be used at said special election, or by stamping a
cross (x) in the voting square after the printed word "No" on such
ballots. If an elector shall stamp a cross (x) in the voting
square after the printed word "Yes the vote of such elector sha17
be counted in favor of said new territory being annexed to, in—
corporated in and made a part of said. City of Anaheim and the

ition to be submitted at such special election, to -wit: That it is
proposed to annex to, incorporate in, and make a part of said City
of Anaheim the aforesaid territory sought to be annexed, and shall
specifically describe the boundaries thereof, and that the property
shall, after such annexation, be subject to taxation equally with
the property within the City of Anaheim to pay its pro rata portion

designate said new territory as EAST ANAHEIM ANNEXATION, as herein
above provided, and there shall be designated in such notice the

State of California entitled "AN Act to provide for the alteration

pal corporations, for the incorporation of such annexed territory
in and as a part thereof, and for the districting, government and

and all acts amendatory thereof and supplementary thereto, and no
other„ which.said act is designated and referred to as the "Annexati
Act of 1913."
