RESOLUTION NO. 1441
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM URGING THE
STATE LEGISLATURE TO APPROPRIATE #90,000,000 STATE SURPLUS FUNDS TO
CITIES AND COUNTIES TO ASSIST IN CONSTRUCTING ESSENTIAL PUBLIC WORKS
WHEREAS, the population of the City of Anaheim has increas
from approximately 10,000 in 1940 to 13,000 in 1945; and
WHEREAS, during 1946 and 1947 it will be necessary for
the City of Anaheim to proceed with the construction of several pro
jects essential to the public health and safety, and in which there
is a State interest, which projects in the order of necessity, with
estimated cost of construction as determined by competent engineers
are as follows
1. A main sewer trunk line to outfall sewer, together
with principal laterals, the estimated cost of which is $65,600.00;
2.' Improvements to the joint outfall sewer of which the
City of Anaheim is a party, such improvements including booster
pumping station, digester, and reconstruction of main line, the
estimated cost of Anaheim share being $170,400.00;
3. Major storm drain installations, the estimated cost
of which, esclusive of k¢ gas tax, is $31,900,00;
4. Industrial waste treatment plant, the estimate of
cost Anaheim's share being $10,000,00;
5. Improvement, resurfacing and repair of streets of
major importance, the estimated cost of which, exclusive of 4¢ gas
tax, is $41,800.00;
6. A fire station, the estimated cost of which is
*32,700.00;
(The total of such estimated costs is 052,400.00); and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has not sufficient funds
available to pay for the construction of said projects;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim, that the Legislature of the State of California be
urgently requested to make an appropriation of approximately

00,000,000,00 out of state surplus funds, to be disbursed to Cities
and Counties in proportion to their respective 1940 populations;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that any of such monies disbursed
and paid to the City of Anaheim will be used for construction of
the projects above described in order of their importance as above
set forth;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the construction of said
projects is essential to public health and safety, and that said
projects are directly of State interest.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that copies of this resolution
be forwarded to State Senator Thomas H. Kuchel and Assemblyman Sam
L. Collins.
The foregoing Resolution is signed and approved by me
this 27th day of November, 1945.
