With Fes tiva l, you have g iven the developer multiple extens ions to renegotia te the Union C ontra cts , but ha ve ta ken s teps to s i l ence the
people you repres ent. You mus t commit to opening the Public C omments with regards to the Fes tiva l Projec t duri ng the Ma rc h 3rd C i ty
C ouncil Meeting .
The C ity is cla iming that the eva cuation times ha ve been s olved without providing a ny conc rete evidenc e. T here have been no fire
s tudies to quantify the benefits of the Know Your Wa y plan. The only credible s tudies were i ncluded in the E IR's that both s upport the
3 hour evacua tion times , us ing the lates t modeling s oftwa re.
In addition, The C ity s eems to be relying on a n unreleas ed tra ffic s tudy from 2025. Upon a s king for thi s doc ument duri ng the las t C i ty
C ouncil meeting , this informa tion has not been provided. When provided, the citizens s hould have a mpl e time to revi ew and c omment.
C ouncilmember Meeks outlined s teps the city is taking with regards to communica tion between i nterna l depa rtments , a s wel l a s wi th
externa l a g encies s uch a s C a lTrans , a nd neig hboring cities . I ha ve as ked for the written pla ns for thes e to verify tha t a plan exi s ts , and
have not been able to uncover s uch a document. Mr. Emami s tated it wa s part of the Know Your Wa y Plan. I am s till wa i ting for it.
Furthermore, during the Jan 13 city council meeting, Ma yor Aitken s a id this project wa s n't nec es s a ry i n order to meet the hous i ng
requirement. In fact, the city rea lly does n't need this project.
Why a re you g oing a g a ins t public opinion and forcing this project through when it is n't needed, i s n't i mporta nt, and is ba d for the
community?
Why a re you neg a ting the benefits of the Know Your Way Pla n by us ing it to a dd to the probl em a g a i n?
Now is the time for trans pa rency. The citizens you repres ent s hould be a ble to view all s ource informati on related to your dec i s ions
and g iven a mple time to review the documents .
For this rea s on, you mus t re-open public comments on the Fes tival Project during the Ma rc h 3rd meeti ng .
