Dear Council Member,
Please read my o pposition to the Festival Center Project.
Previo usly you have heard the residents of Anaheim Hills co mmunity stating o ne o f o ur
majo r concerns is f ire evacuatio n. I live within a smaller co mmunity o f Anaheim Hills. I live in
a community directly o f f of Santa Ana Canyon Rd where a private ro ad f o rks into Canyon
Crest and Martin Road. These roads have additional ro ads that branches f ro m them f o r
o ver hundreds o f mo re residential ho using.
There's a sign po sted at the entry o f Canyo n Crest and Martin Ro ad that states No Outlet.
So, the only way to exit is Santa Ana Canyo n Rd.
There is 1 stop sign f o r this exit either f o r a right or lef t turn o n Santa Ana Canyo n Ro ad. A
mo torist exiting needs to wait until traf f ic is clear in order to make a right hand turn heading
to wards the Festival. To make a lef t hand turn is worse because it has to be clear in bo th
directio ns to turn saf ely. There are times such as rush hours when it is mo re dif f icult. Do wn
the ro ad on the lef t is El Rancho Charter Scho ol and during dismissal times o f co urse there's
traf f ic co ming f rom the scho ol.
In the 24 years we lived in o ur ho me we needed to be evacuated twice. We were trapped
trying to exit the bumper to bumper traf f ic on Santa Ana canyo n rd bef o re so meo ne let us
thro ugh.
Reminder that Santa Ana Canyo n and Canyon Rim are designated evacuatio n ro utes.
The Festival Center pro ject would vastly impact the traf f ic and co ngestio n we already have
o n a daily basis. And f ire evacuatio n is o f the utmo st prio rity.I can no t imagine any mo re
vehicles added to this ro ad.
Please hear the co ncerns o f Anaheim Hills residents and please deny appro val f o r the
Festival Center Pro ject.
