Notioe is hereby given that sealed propoea1 will be ra eived by
the City Council of the City of Anaheim, at the office of the City Clark
Of said City, up to the hour of eight otolook P.X. of Tuesday, the 16th
day of January, 1945, for the furnishinc to raid, City of the following
approximate quantities of Cast Iron Water Pipe, Oast Iron Fittings and
Gate Valve Boxes:
Item 1. 5000 ft. 6 insh Ca 8t Iron Ptp.
Item 2. Approximately 4200 lbs Cast Iron fltttng�.
Item 3. 6o Adjustable Gate Valva Boxes
Said pipe, fittings and valve boxas shall be in a000rdanoe with
Specifications for Oast Iron Water Pipa, Series of 1944,0ity of Anaheim.*
Proposals hall set forth;
1. Place from which materials shall be shippad
2. Approximate date of shipmmnt.
3. Bidders may submit proposals on basis of F.O.B. point of ship-
ment and/or delivery at Anaheim.
The City Council of said City reserves the right to reject any and
all bids and parts of bide and to accept bids in whole Or in parts. Said
bids shall be accompanied by a certified or oashierts Check drawn upon a
bank doing business in the State of California, for at least ten per cant
of the bid, payable to the City of Anahaim, and the sucoassful bidder or
bidders will be raquired to furnish within ten days after award of oon-
tract, a surety bond payable to said City and subject to the approval of
sai(1 City Council, in an amount not lass than fifty per cant of the ag-
gremte total amount of said oontract, which bond shall bm conditioned
upon the faithful performance of said contract.

SPECIFICATIONS FOR CAST IRON WATER PIPE
SERIES OF 1944, CITY OF ANAHEIM
Cast Iron Water Pipe furnished under these Specifications shall
comply with Federal Specifications for Cast Iron Bell and Spigot
Pipe, Section IV (Part 5), No. WW-P -421, July 21, 1931.
Pipe shall be Class 150 for 150 pounds maximum water working
Pipe shall be lined with "Enamaline" or equal, of 1/16" minimum
thickness and shall be coated on the outside with coal -tar
pitch varnish.
Fittings: Los Angeles or short pattern fittings, Class D, will
be considered as complying with these specifications if they
otherwise conform with the above mentioned specifications.
Castlron Valve Boxes: Valve boxes furnished under these spec-
ifications shall be Buffalo Screw Type Cast Iron Valve Boxes,
adjustable from 26" to 40 54." shaft, round base, dimensions of
the base shall be:the inside diameter of the bottom, fourteen
and three eights inches, height 11 inches. All boxes shall be
furnished complete with lid.
