Dear Council Member, I am writing to as k you to vote "Yes " on the Anaheim Hills Fes tival Center apartment project. NIMBYs will loudly res is t any new development: they will s how up to meetings and make the cas e that they are the majority. They are not. More hous ing is absolutely critical with the ongoing cris is and new cons truction is exactly what we need. The current objection s eems to be rooted around "s afety"; appealing to evacuation times during the threat of fire. While I would never s eek to diminis h that ris k, I find it extraordinarily flims y that it warrants the wholes ale rejection of new cons truction. The city is more than capable of multitas king; we can s olve evacuation problems as new places get built. And I'm s ure even in a world in which evacuation times were magically addres s ed by a propos al, they'd jus t find another s hallow excus e to oppos e ("traffic", "parking", "crowds ", "neighborhood character", the list goes on and on and on). Pleas e s tand firm amids t their melodrama and help us get this built. The revitalization project looks extremely exciting in addition to the apartments . I can't wait to s ee it materialize. Thank you for your time and attention and bes t of luck with the remaining s teps of the proces s . Sincerely, Kyle Mins hall
