Mayor Akins and Honorable City Council Members,
As an Anaheim resident for the past fifteen years, I would like to express my strong support for the approval of the Festival
Project.
I currently rent in District 6 and have been planning to move to the Inland Empire due to ri si ng housi ng costs. However, my job is
here in Orange County, my daughter also works here, and relocating to Riverside C ounty would mean spendi ng over 1.5 hours—
often more—each way on the freeway. If given the opportunity to purchase a condomi ni um in a safe area of Anahei m, close to
where I work and shop, it would make a tremendous difference for my family and me.
I understand that some residents oppose this project, but many of those voices come from i ndivi duals who already own homes in
AH. From my understanding, this project includes affordable housing options, which is exactly what working fami lies like mine
need and hope to qualify for.
My grandson Remaining in Anaheim—particularly within the Orange
Unified School District— My priority i s
keeping him within the same system while improving our quality of life by becoming homeowners.
Regarding concerns about labor requirements, if changes would increase constructi on costs and ultimately be passed on to
buyers, I believe it is best to allow the project to proceed as designed with the developer’s chosen contractors. Affordabi lity i s
critical, and the project will still be subject to all city inspections and regulations.
I currently pay $4,300 in rent and im just throwing my money away since I dont get any benefit from renti ng. Purchasi ng a two-
bedroom condominium would provide stability, financial relief, and long-term securi ty for my family. Most importantly, i t would
allow us to stay close to work, reduce excessive commuting time,
Please consider voting yes on the Festival Project. Many Anaheim residents are renters who aspire to homeownership, and this
project offers a meaningful opportunity to live in a community that is safe, accessible, and worthy of calling home.
please note that my grandson is also an Anaheim Kid like Mayor Akins!
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Respectfully,
Rosa I. Villicana
