BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM that the compensation of the following employees of said City be, and the same is hereby fixed as follows: HOURS AUDITING DEPARTMENT: RATE WEEKLY One Auditor 225.00 per month 44 One Clerk 145.00 per month 44 One Stenographer Extra .70 per hour One Clerk 105.00 per month 44 ASSESSOR: One Assessor Deputy City Assessor 240.00 per month One Deputy .80 per hour ATTORNEY: One Attorney And in addition thereto for extra- ordinary services such as appear- ances in Superior Court, or commis- sions established by law, such sums as the City Council may deem reason- able. CITY JUDGE: One City Judge 160.00 per month Clerical Assistance 20.00 per month MISCELLANEOUS: One Attendant Dyke 30.00 per month BUILDING INSPECTOR: One Inspector 120.00 per month ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: City Engineer 335.00 per month 44 One First Assistant 280.00 per month 44 Utility Man 1.00 per hour 48 JANITOR: One Janitor 160.00 per month 48 SOCIAL WELFARE DEPARTMENT: One Superintendant and Police Matron 110.00 per month 260.00 per month 44 44 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 FIRE DEPARTMENT: RATE Chief Firemen Relief Firemen (temporary) The salary of firemen in the Fire Department is hereby fixed for the regular firemen at $175.00 per month for the first six months that they are employed by the City, which compensation shall be raised $10.00 per month for each six months of service until the total com- pensation received by the firemen shall reach the sum of $195.00 per month. The number of firemen is hereby fixed at five, with an addi- tional temporary fireman whose salary is hereby fixed at $155.00 per month. POLICE DEPARTMENT: Chief Assistant Chief One Relief Sergeant Three Desk Sergeants The salary of patrolmen in the Police Department is hereby fixed for regular patrolmen at $175.00 per month for the first six months that they are employed by the City, which compensation shall be raised $10.00 per month for each six months of service, whether as patrolmen or as motorcycle officers, until the total compensation received by the patrolmen shall reach the sum of $195.00 per month. The number of patrolmen, exclusive of the Assistant Tax Collector and exclusive of the Deputy License Collector and Deputy Pound Master, is hereby fixed at ten, with an additional temporary patrolman whose salary is hereby fixed at $155.00 per month. An allowance of $50.00 per year, payable semi annually, for all regu lar patrolmen, excepting the Chief and Assistant Chief, for uniforms is hereby authorized. In addition to the foregoing patrolmen, there is hereby authorized for the police department a patrolman to assist as deputy license collector and deputy pound master, whose compensation is hereby fixed at $150.00 per month. School crossing guards, not to exceed five in number, whose compensation is hereby fixed at $40.00 per month. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Anaheim shall deduct the sum of eighty cents each month from the salary of each employee insured as outlined in the foregoing paragraph, which deduction shall be sue employee's monthly contribution on the premium for such insurance. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in the event an employee of the City of Anaheim is placed in a part time position with said City after faith fully serving said City for a long period of years, such employee shall, during the first vacation to which he shall be entitled after being placed in such part time position, receive a salary based upon the salary received by him immediately before being placed in such part time position; the City Council shall, by minute order, desig- nate from time to time which of its employees shall be deemed to come within the scope of this provision, and its decision in making such designation shall be final. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all applicants for positions upon the Police and Fire Departments of said City, and all other applicants for positions with the City as the City Council shall from time to time designate, shall successfully undergo a physical examination, the character of which shall be in the form approved by the City Council on July 1, 1941, or such other form as the Council shall fro time to time adopt. Such examination shall be upon said form to be furnished to the applicant by the City Clerk. The City shall not pa to exceed Five ($5.00) Dollars for each such examination. No appli- cant shall receive said form from the City Clerk nor shall the City be liable for the cost of any examination, unless the City Council by its order, or a Department Head, by written authorization, shall approve the applicant for such examination. The physician examining such applicant shall be of a school recognized by the Industrial Ac- cident Commission of the State of California, and shall be in active practice with an office in the City of Anaheim; provided, however, that no applicant shall be examined by a physician who has examined or professionally attended either the applicant or any members of hi family within five years immediately prior to such examination. Sub ,sect to the foregoing restrictions, the applicant may be examined by any physician he chooses. Immediately upon completing such examina- tion, the examining physician shall deliver the report of the exami- nation upon said form, directly to the City Clerk. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the employees of said City shall hav the following holidays as vacation with pay: New Yearts Day Lincoln's Birthday Washington's Birthday Memorial Day Independence Day Labor Day Admission Day Armistice Day Thanksgiving Day Christmas Day BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that employees receiving compensation on an hourly basis who shall be required to work for said City on the abov mentioned holidays shall receive double pay for hours they work on such holidays; and employees shall receive no pay for any holidays 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 wherein they do not work, other than the holidays above mentioned. Employees must have worked six months with the City to receive holi- day pay on stated holidays wherein they do not work. An employee is not considered a regular employee until he has been employed for six consecutive months. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the heads of departments and all em- ployees receiving compensation on a monthly basis, who shall have at least one year's continuous service immediately preceding, shall be given a vacation of two calendar weeks with pay each year in addition to the holidays above set forth. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that vacations must be taken within the calendar year of each year. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all employees receiving compensation on an hourly basis, who shall have one yearts continuous service immedi- ately preceding, shall be given a vacation of ninety -six (96) hours with pay each year in addition to the holidays above set forth. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the schedule of compensation herein co tained shall be in effect Aargtal7er July 1, 1944. `�G7 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 1285 of the City of Anahei and all other resolutions amendatory thereto, in conflict herewith, are hereby rescinded.
