RESOLUTION NO. 1275
Councilman Sheridan offered Resolution No. 1275 and moved for its adoption.
Councilman Yungbluth seconded the motion.
RESOLUTION NO. 12 75
WHEREAS, the Great Creator has seen fit to surimon unto Himself
our esteemed friend and fellow- citizen, George L. Bates, and
WHEREAS, George L. Bates contributed largely to the accurate

surveys of Anaheim and vicinity, and
WH :REAS, he was at all titles eager and willing to as:.ist in-all
worthy causes for the promotion and progress of Orange County, and
WHEREAS, his presence will be sorely missed by all who knew him;
NOW, THEREFOR:, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Anaheim that it deeply mourns the untimely passing of George L. Bates,
and in the name of and on }behalf of the people of the City of Anaheim it
extends its sincerest sympathy to those who survive him, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolutioni be forwarded
to his bereaved wife, Grace F. Bates.
On roll call the foregoing resolution was passed ar.d adopted by
the following vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEN, Pearson, Van Wagoner,Yungbluth,Martenet,Jr. and Sheridan.
NOES: COUNCILMEN, None
ABSENT AND NOT VOTING: COUNCILMEN, None
The Mayor of the City of Anaheim declared the foregoing resolution'
duly passed and adopted.
