WHEREAS, our Mayor's wife has been
The best within our sight and ken;
WHEREAS, her plans have oft been spoiled,
Because the Mayor sweat and toiled
Upon some ordinance dry as dust,
At which the Council fumed and fussed;
WHEREAS, her smile and gracious mien
And regal beauty, like a queen,
And kind and friendly graciousness,
Have won the hearts of all of us;
BE IT RESOLVED, with one acclaim,
We place her in the Hall of Fame.
