04/20/1936-013w 1 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DECLARING RESULT OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM 2 ON TUESDAY, THE 14th DAY OF APRIL, 1936. 3 WHEREAS, a general municipal election was held and conducted 4 in the City of Anaheim on Tuesday, the 14th day of April, 1936, as 5 required by law, and, 6 WHEREAS, it appears that notice of said election was duty 7 and legally given, that voting precincts were properly established' 8 for the said election, that election officers were appointed, and 9 election supplies furnished, and that in all respects said elec- 10 tion was held and conducted, and the votes cast thereat received 11 and canvassed, and returns thereof made and declared in the time, 12 form and manner as required by the laws of the State of California, 13 governing elections in cities of the sixth class, and, 14 WHEREAS, the City Council of said City met at the chamber of 15 said City Council on Monday, the 20th day of April, 1936, to can - 16 vass the returns of said election and install the newly elected 17 officers, and that said City Council did canvass the said election 18 at said time, in the manner and form required by law, as a result 19 of which, the said City Council finds that the number of votes 20 cast the names of the persons voted for, and other matters 21 required by law, to be as hereinafter stated, 22 NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Anaheim 23 does resolve as follows: 24 That said regular municipal election was held and conducted 25 in the City of Anaheim on Tuesday, the 14th day of April, 1936, at 26 the time, and in the form and manner, as required by law; 27 That there were eight voting precincts established for the 28 purpose of holding said election, consisting of a consolidation of 29 the regular election precincts established by order of the Board 30 of Supervisors for holding g general state and county elections, 31 as follows: 32 I Consolidated Votion Precinct "A ", comprising state and PAGE U 1 II county precincts, "Anaheim Precincts Nos. 1, 5 and 6." 2 Consolidated Voting Precinct "B ", comprising state and 3 county precincts, "Anaheim Precincts Nos. 2, 3 and 4." 4 Consolidated Voting Precinct "C ", comprising state and 5 county precincts, "Anaheim Precincts Nos. 7, 8 and 10." 6 Consolidated Voting Precinct "D ", comprising state and 7 county precincts, "Anaheim Precincts Nos. 11, 12 and 14." 8 Consolidated Voting Precinct "E", comprising state and 9 county precincts, "Anaheim Precincts Nos. 15, 16 and 18." 10 Consolidated Voting Precinct "F ", comprising state and 11 county precincts, "Anaheim Precincts Nos. 13, 19 and 20." 12 Consolidated Voting Precinct "G", comprising state and 13 county precincts, "Anaheim Precincts Nos. 17, 21 and 22." 14 Consolidated Voting Precinct "H ", comprising state and 15 county precincts, "Anaheim Precincts Nos. 9, 23 and 24." 16 That the whole number of votes cast at said election in 17 Consolidated Voting Precinct "A" was 18 That the whole number of votes cast at said election in 19 Consolidated Voting Precinct "B" was .? Dolan, 12 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that at said general municipal elec- 13 tion, Charles H. Mann, and Charles A. Pearson. 14 received the highest number of votes given for the office of mem- 15 ber of the City Council, and that Charles E. Griffith 16 received the highest number of votes g given for the office of City 17 Clerk, and that Charles A. Boege received the 18 highest number of votes given for the office of City Treasurer, 19 and they are hereby severally declared elected to such office, 20 respectively. 21 The City Clerk of the City of Anaheim shall, and he is hereby 22 directed to, enter upon the records of the City Council of said 23 City a satatement of the result of said election, showing; 24 1. The whole number of votes cast in said city. 25 2. The names of the persons voted for. 26 3. The office to fill which each of said persons were 27 voted for. 28 4. The number of votes given at each of said precincts 29 for each of such persons. 30 5. The number of votes given in said city for each of 31 said persons. 32 7 . The number of ballots received as the absentee votes was I / The City Clerk of the City of Anaheim shall immediately make out and deliver to each of such persons elected a certificate of election, signed by him, and duly authenticated; he shall also impose the constitutional oath of office, and have them subscribe thereto, whereupon they shall be inducted into the office to which they have been elected.
