rating of the base heating element, controlled by thermostat
located near the bottom of the tank, does not exceed 1500 watts
for tanks of less than 40 gallons capacity and does not exceed
40 watts per gallon of tank capacity for tanks of 40 gallons and
over. An additional wattage of not to exceed 50 watts per gallon
of tank capacity, but in no event more than a total of 2 KW is
allowable when used in a booster heating element individually
controlled by a separate thermostat, set to cut in only when the
temperature of the top one —third (1/3) of the tank capacity is
20 deg. F. below the temperature setting of the bottom thermostat.
The City may, at its election and expense, install a time
switch on the water heater service to cut off the heating element,
controlled by the bottom thermostat, between the hours of 5:00
P.M. and 9:100 P.M.each day, or such other hours as the city may
specify from time to time.
kd) Major equipment consists of any device for domestic use
that is rated by the manufacturer at one or more kilowatts.
(e) Minimum charge will be based on connected load taken
at 1000 of the nameplate rating of major equipment permanently
connected and which may be connected at any one time, computed
to the nearest 1 /10 of a kilowatt. Connected load for water
heaters shall be taken as 1000 of the rating of the base heat—
ing units, booster heating units being waived.
(f) Bathroom, halls,and cellars are not classified as
rooms.
.(g) Single phase power service (3 H P or less) may be
combined under this schedule, in which case each horse —power of
connected load shall be considered as equivalent to 1 KW of
connected load.
(h) Where consumer installs air heating unit, the minimum
charge for the entire installation of the consumer on this

In the case of connected loads of 500 H.P. or over, the city
may base the consumerts maximum demand upon a 30- minute interval
instead of a 15- minute interval.
In the case of hoists,elevators, welding machines, furnaces
and other installations where the energy demand is intermittent,
or subject to violent fluctuations, the city may base the con-
sumer's maximum demand upon a 5- minute interval instead of a
15- minute interval.
(d) Any consumer may obtain the rates for a larger install-
ation by guaranteeing the rates and minimum charge applicable to
the larger installation.
(e) Where the primary use of power is seasonal, the minimum
charge may, at the option of the consumer, be made accumulative
over a twelve month period.
(f) Maximum demand meters when used will be installed and
maintained by the city at its expense.
(g) Any demands for installation in excess of 250 H.P.
occuring between the hours of 11 P.M. and 6 A. M. of the followin
day will not be considered in computing charges under the schedul
(h) Whenever,upon test, any motor is found to be deliver-
ing more than 1250 of its capacity as indicated by its name plate
rating, the city may disregard the name plate rating and base its
charges upon the actual output as calculated from test.
(1) On application by the consumer, where the maximum dema.
is not less than 250 kilowatts and where the kilowatt hours con-
sumed in any month exceed the lagging reactive kilovoltampere ho
used in that month, a credit allowance on this schedule will be
made on such excess kilowatt hours at the rate of eight - tenths
(0.8) of a mill per kilowatt hour. Such credit in any one month
shall not exceed ten (10) per cent of the total bill for that

is permanently discontinued and will not be made where install—

is subject to the General Rules and Regulations on file with the
City Clerk of the City of Anaheim and to the -rollowine special
conditions:

(a) The flat rate shown shall be paid. in advance as a fee for monthli
permit which entitles consumer to operate floor sanding machine
designated in any pert of the territory served. by the city.
(b) This permit is issued by the Controller of the City of Anaheim,
and shall be available for inspection by any duly authorized agent
of said controller upon demand.
(c) Under this schedule the consumer may connect his wires at his
own risk and expense to the city service and ahead of the city's
meter, provided such lines are single phase, 230 volts or less and
consumer's apparatus consists of one motor and does not exceed 3 HP
capacity. It is required, however, that the city be notified prior
to each connection being made.
(d) Consumer may elect, where the circuit and. meter already in use
are of adequate proportions to furnish temporary power of the
character above mentioned, to take service from the existing meter
at the regular rate applicable to said meter, provided the tem—
porary user makes a satisfactory arrangement with the consumer of
record.
(e) Should it be necessary for the city to incur any special ex—
pense incident to any installation of this nature, same stall be
borne by the consumer in addition to the regular monthly permit fee.

In no case will the total annual service charge be less
than $13.00 for single phase service, nor less than X19.50
for three phase service.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
(a) This 'rate applies to service rendered at 220 or 440
volts at the option of the consumer. All necessary transformers
to obtain such voltage to be installed, owned and maintained by
the City.
(b) The annual period upon which this rate is based shall
begin with the first regular meter reading taken on and after May
1 st. , and end with the last regulat meter reading taken prior to
May 1st of the succeeding year.
(c) The service charge is payable in six monthly installments
during the months of May to October, inclusive. The energy charge
is payable monthly as energy is used.
(d) Any consumer may obtain the rates for a larger installatic
by guaranteeing the rates and service charge of the larger
installation.
(e) Whenever, upon test, any motor is found to be delivering
1 more than 125;0 of its capacity as indicated by its name plate
2 rating, the City may disregard the name plate rating and base its
3 charges upon the actual output as calculated from test.
4 (f) Change in Connected Load:
5 Consumers permanently increasing or decreasing connected load
6 will have payments adjusted in accordance with the basis outlined
7 under provision (g) following:
8 (g) Service Commenced or Discontinued During the Agricultural
Year:

10 The Following adjustments apply only in the case of service
11 first begun or permanently discontinued and will not be made when
12 installations shut down for a few months.
13 For a fractional agricultural year the rate will be modified
as follows:

deposit remaining in the hands of the Department after all proper
rates and charges have been deducted therefrom,will be returned
to said applicant when such service is discontinued.
Each consumer permitted to use water outside the City of
Anaheim, shall pay for such water at the following rates,provided
however, that the following minimum charges shall be paid by
consumers outside of the City limits of the City of Anaheim:
For service through 3/4 inch pipe $2.00
For service through 1 inch pipe 3.20
For service through Iz inch pipe 6.00
For service through 2 inch pipe 10.00
For service through 3 inch pipe 16.00

Cents ($1.50)0
For all water furnished and delivered by the City of Anaheim
through any meter outside said City,the charge for any amount of
water in excess of 750 cubic feet for each month during which
said water is furnished or until such time as such water connects
shall be discontinued, is hereby fixed at Fifteen Cents ( #.15) pe
100 cubic feet.
SECTION 2: All other conditions,except minimum charges and

2 SECTION 24 -A: K water shall be furnished for irrigation
3 purposes by means of overhead sprinkling inside the City of
4 Anaheim,at the rate of six cents ($.06) per each one hundred
5 (100) cubic feet of water delivered each month.
6 Service shall be permitted only through 12 inch meter and
7 through 2 -inch meter connections, and the minimum charge to be
8 made for such service each month shall be as follows:
9 For service through 1 inch meter - - - - - - $4.00
10 For service through 2 -inch meter - - - - - - 5.00

11 provided, however, that no service shall be given through the
12 connections aforesaid,or for irrigation purposes above mentioned,
13 except when such water may be furnished without interfering with
14 a sufficient supply of water to the present consumers for domestic
15 purposes.
16 Service above provided for shall be granted only upon the
17 application first having been made,and having been connected to
18 the city mains. Such application for use of water as aforesaid
19 shall be made to the Superintendent of the Water Department of
20 the City of Anaheim. If said application be granted by the said
21 Superintendent of the Water Department of the City of Anaheim,
22 said Superintendent shall allot to the consumer a specific time,
23 and said water shall be used by the consumer at such time as is
24 specified by the Superintendent of the Water Department of the
25 City of Anaheim, and in no case shall said Superintendent of the
26 Water Department permit said consumer to use water for the purposes
2 aforesaid except between the hours of eight (8:00) o'clock P.M.
28 to six (6;00) o'clock A.M. of the following day.
29 Said consumer may terminate said Service at any time upon
30 giving notice to the Superintendent of the Water Department of the
31 City of Anaheim,and after such notice,said service will not be
32 reconnected until an additional service fee of Two($2.00) Dollars
shall have been paid.
