WHEREAS, the Supreme Ruler of the Universe, in the exercise of His Infinite Wisdom, has called from our community our beloved citizen, William Stark, and, WHEREAS, William Stark served faithfully as a member of the Board of Trustees of this city for a period extending from 1911 to 1924, four years of which period he served as Mayor, and, during all of which time, he expended his greatest efforts and ability for the promotion of the best interests of the citizens of Anaheim, and, in his legiplative and executive capacity, he was the moving power in the establishment and beautifying of our City Park, of the erection of our present City Hall, of the surfacing and beautifying of our public streets, and of the enacting of numerous measures for the advancement of the comfort, health and security of our people, and, WHEREAS, during his lifetime, as a public official and private citizen, he evinced the greatest interest in the welfare of his fellowmen, and gave unsparingly of his time and counsel to the promotion of the community well-being, and, WHEREAS, we deeply feel the loss to our community in the passing of such an esteemed and loyal citizen, and deeply feel the debt of the City of Anaheim to William Stark for the faith- ful public service he has rendered to this city and community, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, that we feel and experience the greatest sorrow in the untimely passing of our beloved fellow citizen, William Stark, and that we extend to those whom he has left, our sincere sympathy and condolence in this, their time of bereavement. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting, and that certified copies thereof be sent to his beloved wife, Mrs. Mathilda Stark, to his -1- 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 daughter, Mrs. M. E. Tedford, and to his sons, Judge Eldon W. Stark and Dr. L. 71. Stark. The foregoing Resolution in Memoriam was signed and approved by me this 13th day of December, 1928.
