RESOLUTION OF'INTENTION N4. 201

A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DE4LAR-
ING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER THE PAYING OF THE ROADWAY OF NORTH PALM
AND A PORTION OF SOUTH PALM STREETS, IN SAID CITY.
RESOLVED BY THE BO MM OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY 07 ANAHEIMs
SECTION 1: That the public interest and convenience require
and that it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Anaheim to order the following described street work to be done in
said city, to -wit:
That the roadway of North and South Palm Streets, from the
south line of Romneya Drive to the northerly line of West Broadway,
excepting therefrom the intersection of West Center Street, be graded
to the official grade and paved with asphaltic concrete pavement six
(6) inches thick and nominally fifty -one and one -half (51.5) feet ina
width between curbs; that standard concrete curb be constructed to
the official grade along said roadway to be improved, where such curb
has not been constructed or has become %woken; that four(41 inch con-
crete sidewalk be constructed to the official grade along the westerly
side of said North Palm Street from West Sycamore Street to West
Rilhelmina Street, and elsewhere along said roadway where present side-
walk has become broken; that alley and driveway crossings and ap-
proaches along said roadway to be improved, where such crossings and
approaches have not #een constructed or have become tooken, be graded
to the official grade and paved with concrete six(61 inches thick and
consisting of a mixture of 1 part Portland cement, 2 parts sand and
3 parts gravel or crushed rock; that where necessary to conform to
the adopted plans for widening said streets, existing curb and side-
walk be removed and reconstructed;
that a corrugated iron oulvert, with
retaining wall and hand -rail, be constructed across said roadway in
the channel between La Palma Avenue and Forth Los Angeles Stleet;
that corrugated parr circle culverts, with the necessary end walls
and clean -out boxes and covers, be constructed at the Cypress, North,
La Palma and Los Angeles Street intersections; and,that the curb and
sidewalk on the easterly side of said North Palm street between La
Verne Street and La Palma Avenue, and on the south side of 'Nest
La Palma Avenue between said Forth Palm .Street and Helena Street, be
removed and reconstructed to the new official grade, which new grade
is 2.15 feet lower at the southeasterly corner of said North Palm
Street and 'West La Palma Avenue.
SECTION 2: TUT, SEAS, in the opinion of said Board of Trustees,
said contemplated work and improvement is of more than local or ordinary
public benefit, said Board hereby makes the expense of said work and
improvement chargeable upon a certain district within said City of
Anaheim, which district said Board hereby declares to be the district

benefited by said work and improvement and to be assessed to pay the
costs and expenses thereof;which said district includes the following
lots and parcels of land, t&4it:

Palm Street and a line parallel therewith and distant uniformly 115
foot. westerly ,therefrom ; also that portion_ of Lot 17 lying westerly
from the westerly line of North Palm Street, and that portion of said
Lot 17 lying'betweaS the easterly line of said North Palm Xtteet and
a line parallel therewith and distant uniformly 108.87 feet easterly
therefrom.
IN ANAHEIM[ EXTENSION, as per map made by William Hamel,
Licensed Surveyor, and filed for record in the office of the County
Recorder of Los Angeles County:
That portion of the northerly 6 acres of Lot 40 lying between
the westerly line of North Palm Street and a line parallel therewith
and distant uniformly 115 feet westerly therefrom.
IN KOEBTFLZR TRACT, as per map recorded in Book 30, page 17,
Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County:
The westerly 115 feet of Lots 1, 2 and 3, Block 4;
the westerly 115 feet of Lots 1 to 6 inclusive,

2 art! 3, Block 1; and the westerly 115 feet of the
easterly 125 feet of those certain 60 -foot streets

feet of Lot D-6, excepting therefrom those portions
heretofore granted for the opening and widening of
West Center, Rest Chartres and West Cypress Streets;

The exterior boundary limes of said district are as
shown on the diagrams marked and designated NDiagram
shows propert to be assessed for improvements on
North -Tor South Palm Street, pursuant to Resolution_
of Intention No. 201 of the Board of Trustees of the
City of Anaheim,* which said diagrams are on file in
the office of the City Rngineer of said City.
SECTION 3: That the cost and expense of paving street inter-
sections and opposite terminations along said roadway to be improved..
also the cost and expense of paving the easterly half of said road-
way between West Cypress and West Sycamore Streets, shall be paid for
by said City out of its Improvement Fund.

SECTION 4: That said work shall be done in: accordance with
the plans and specifications therefor, which said plans were adopted
by said Bound of Trustees on the 13th, day of January, 1927 and are
masked and designated *Paving Plan, North (or South) Palm Street,
Street Improvement No. 39, sheets 1 to 6 inclusive, and are on file
in the office of the City Engineer of said city; and which said
specifications, on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City,
are entitled and designated as follows:
"Specifications No. 34, series of 1924, for the construo-
tion of asphaltic concrete pavements
"General Socoifications No. 36, For Public Works
"Specifications No.39, Concrete Pipes
"Specifications No. 40, Corrugated Iron Culverts-p and
Ordinance No. 404 governing Cement Curb and iidewal$
Construction.
SECTION 5: That serial bonds shall be issued to represent as-
sessments of $25.00 or over for the cost and expenses of said work
and improvement; that said serial bonds shall extend over a period
of nine years from the second day of January nest succeeding the
fifteenth day of the next November following their date, and an even
annual proportion of the prinolkpal sum thereof shall be payable,
by coupon, on the second day of January every year after the fifteenth
day of the neat November following their date until the whole is
paid, and the interest shall be paid semi - annually, by coupon, on
the second days of January and July respectively, of each year, at
the rate of seven percent per annum on all sums unpaid, until the
whole of said principal and interest are paid.
SECTION 6: That said Board of Trustees hereby fixes Thursday,
the 24th, day of February, 1927, at the hour of eight o'clock P.D.,
at the council chamber of said Board of Trustees in the City Hall in
said city, as the time and place when and where any and all persons
having any objections to the proposed work or improvement may appear
before said Board of Trustees and show cause w� said proposed work
and improvement should not be carried out in accordance with this resoluQ
tiou; provided, all such protests must be in wil ting and must be de-
livered to the City Clerk before the hour set for the hearing of
objections.
SECTION 7: That the Anaheim Bulletin is hereby designated as the
Newspaper printed, published and circulated in said City in which this
resolution shall be published, and the City Clerk is hereby directed
to publish this resolution by two successive insertions in said news-
paper.

SECTION 8: That the Street Superintendent, of said City,,immed-
iately cause to be. conspicuously posted along the line of said con-
templated work or improvement and in front of all property liable to
be assessed, notice of the passage of this Resolution of Intention,
in the manner and form required by law.
SECTION 9: That all of the herein proposed work and improvement
shall be done and said serial bonds shall be issued under and in pur-
suance of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California, desig-
nated the "Improvement Act of 1911," and all acts amendatory thereof.

The foregoing Resolution of Intention is approved,
signed and attested this 27th.day of January, 1927.
