Dear Council Member, I am writing to you as a res ident of Anaheim to as k you to pleas e vote "No" on the propos ed apartments at the Anaheim Hills Fes tival Center. I lived here during the Canyon Fire 2 in 2017 and my family witnes s ed the chaos and gridlock first hand. It was impos s ible to gather my family and flee to s afety s o we opted to monitor clos ely from home and allow thos e with s chool children to collect them with a little more eas e. We had to take a chance by s taying home in order to free up s ome s pace on the roads . That s hould have NEVER happened though. Our lives were in jeopardy becaus e there was NO SAFE WAY OUT! The idea of adding hundreds of new apartments and about 1000+ more people to that exact s ame es cape route is completely incomprehens ible. Our lives would again be in jeopardy if another fire were to erupt. You’ve had all this time to improve the s ituation but instead propos e an idea to put even MORE lives at ris k. How can that be? Who does s uch a thing? I’ve s een reports , I’ve heard plans and ideas , I’ve lis tened to “experts ” and there is nothing, absolutely NOTHING, that has been proven to be in our bes t interes ts . Evacuation time es timates have increas ed. By how much does n’t even matter. The time to get out would be longer. And what happened was already unacceptable. We have been here for 35 years and I pers onally grew up here 60 years ago. As a long time Anaheim Hills res ident, my s afety is in more jeopardy than ever. My s afety, and that of my family, is not a priority to you. Building more s tructures , thereby increas ing the risk to me, is what has become the priority. I’m s o dis appointed and worried. I’m as king that we are lis tened to again and that you end the madnes s , once and for all. We are here and we des erve to be heard, prioritized and protected. Sincerely, Jackie Arch Sent from my iPhone
