This was a very horrific event for my family
I had just started a new job in Newport Beach.
My youngest daughter was at home alone and called me saying she smelled smoke and I told her it was a small fire at the toll road. I confirmed
with APD before telling her that.
Then she called me and said police were going up and down the street saying there was a fire and we needed to evacuate
Well let me tell you as a mom knowing I was far away from my home with a child home alone with pets, I was fairly close to being BEYOND
panic.
I left my office with little to no explanation and drove like the proverbial bat of hell up the toll road. For some reason I got off Chapman exit and
took Serrano to home.
It was surrealistic as I raced up Serrano, helicopters flying overhead and police cars with sirens and lights going back and forth on Serrano. Fires
along Serrano!
I got home to chaos and helped get precious things and the dogs and cats loaded.
Then I stopped to give lifts to residents who were stopped at Ronald Reagan Park
IF you were or not part of this epic event, PLEASE DO NOT BUILD MORE HOUSING. Anaheim Hills is a master built community and further
housing is NOT a part of this plan
