Dear Anaheim C ouncil Member;
I am as king for your "No" vote on the propos ed project at the Ana heim Hills Fes tival C enter. I believe a "No" vote on this projec t is a n
oblig ation of each council member in order to s ave lives of res idents in Ana heim Hills , a nd becaus e the C ouncil's firs t priori ty i s to
protect the current voters of Ana heim Hills over the interes ts of unna med/faceles s indivi dua l s who mi g ht benefi t from propos ed
project.
After experiencing numerous fire threa ts in Anaheim Hills , including the 2017 Canyon Fi re, I have experi enced fea r tha t I woul d never
wa nt to feel ag ain. Hopefully you can imagine you a nd your family s itting in a vehicle a s a res ult of an eva cuati on order becaus e of a
s evere fire threa t, and not being a ble to move becaus e of the ba cklog of traffic caus ed by ja mmed roads with countl es s other res i dents
als o trying to es ca pe a t the s ame time. I will never forget that feeling - watching the fl a mes g etting c l os er by the mi nute. Si nce then
traffic levels ha ve only increa s ed to a point where it is nearly impos s ible to us e the loc a l roa ds s ta ring at a bout 2:00 pm on every
workda y. In the event there was a nother evacua tion order with the current a mounts of tra ffi c, it would be fa r wors e than wha t oc curred
during the prior eva cuation orders .
It is not clear what the C ity hopes to g a in from this project tha t will s erve the current res idents of Anaheim, inc l udi ng Anaheim Hills .
However, whatever the pos s ible gain may be, it ca nnot be jus tified from my point of view by jeopardi zi ng the s a fety of current
res idents . Pleas e wake up! It is als o likely that a ny further increas e in dens ity in this area wi l l l i kely ha ve a neg ati ve effec t on c urrent
property va lues as res idents beg in to experience even longer dela ys in tra veling on the loc a l s treets , and thi s c oul d ha ve a neg ati ve
effect on property ta x revenue.
Sa fety of current res idents s hould be your top priority. An additiona l 7 minutes in evacua ti on time c oul d be the difference between life
and death of res idents you were elected to repres ent! P lease vo t e "N o"!!!
