Do not click links or open attachme nts unle ss you recognize the sender and are expecting the message. My name is Deanna Drum, and I am a 20+ year resident of the Anaheim Hills community. I am writing to express my opposi ti on regarding the proposed high density Festival Center Apartment in our area. I urge the City C ouncil to consi der the long-term implications of this development, mainly the lack of infrastructure for the infusion of new residents, the effect on current homeowners insurance policies and fire risk. This area is a High Fire Risk area so please trust the science and listen to the experts. In addition, several residents are getting their home insurance dropped. More policies will be dropped when a new high density development is approved. Trying to get new coverage is challenging and very expensive. The Counci l should be advocating for the current residents instead of trying to appease developers. I ask, should this high density apartment complex be built in our community or is it more suited near Anaheim Stadium or LA? Why has no developer or Council member suggested demolishing the existing shopping are in Savi Ranch where D i ck’s and Michael’s still exist and make this area into housing. I understand it’s technically in Yorba Linda and it’s in a flood plane but the likelihood of fires in the hills is a higher probability than floods in that area. Adding entrance and exi t access to the 91 freeway would allow for much more housing in north Orange County. It's essential that we preserve the unique qualities of our community and protect it from high-density and overdevelopment. Thank you for your time and consideration, Deanna Drum
