I am writing to you today to as k you to pleas e vote "No" on the propos ed apartments at the Anaheim Hills Fes tiva l C enter. I have been
a res ident of Ana heim Hills for over 28 yea rs . I ha ve wa tched a s the a rea has become more a nd more cong es ted wi th traffic . O nc e
Serano wa s opened from C a nnon to Nohl R a nch R oa d, our lives cha ng ed. With people us ing thi s s tretc h a nd a l l the s urroundi ng roads
(Nohl Ranch Road, Sa nta Ana C anyon, C annon and Weir Canyon) to na vigate a round the c ong es ted 91 freeway, there i s traffic a l mos t
all the time. Adding hundreds of new a pa rtments a nd 1000+ cars to this a rea is a n error i n judg ement and a hug e s a fety ri s k.
As a long -time res ident, I witnes s ed the very s ca ry fire evacua tions . I worked near the bottom of Nohl R a nch R d jus t a few mi l es from
my home. There were ca rs everywhere as people were trying to evacua te to s afety. It took me over a n hour to g et home- jus t a few
miles a way- to collect my dog . I unders tand tha t the res ea rch s ugges ts that thes e a pa rtments wi l l onl y add 7 minutes to the
eva cuations - that mig ht happen if everything went s moothly- but let's be hones t, emerg enc y s i tuati ons ra rely run s moothly when
people are trying to g a ther their family a nd g et to s afety. Adding additiona l people to a n a l rea dy conc erning bottlenec k is a di s as ter
wa iting to ha ppen. If you lived here throug h thos e fires you would know.
I unders ta nd that the city needs hous ing , but it s houldn't be in a n a rea where people are s trug g l i ng to g et out s a fely. Pl ea s e do not
exa cerba te this problem jus t for a new development. The priority s hould be pla ced on the lives and s a fety of the res idents tha t alrea dy
live here. Pleas e vote "NO " on thes e propos ed apartments .
