As I am unable to attend the City Council meeting tonight, I would like to express my opposition to the project at the Festi val
Center. We remember the past fires in our area and the difficulties in evacuation. Santa Ana C anyon Road and the 91 freeway
already operate under heavy congestion. This is about evacuation times and every additional vehi cle matters. We appreciate all
measures the city of Anaheim has taken, but the evacuation plan is not enough. Traffi c i ssues must be addressed before more
housing is built.
The Specific Plan adopted in 1990 intentionally preserved this area as commercial core. That planni ng decision reflected
infrastructure constraints unique to Anaheim Hills. By amending the Specific Plan to allow hi gh-densi ty residential in this core,
you are undoing these planning safeguards.
I understand that the city needs housing, but it shouldn't be built in a place where safe evacuati on is compromised. Please prioritize the safety of the people who already live here.
