Council and Planning commission,
I would like to express my opposition to the proposed development of housing at the Festival Hills Shopping Center.
Adding the housing will bring additional people, cars, congestion, and strain on inadequate existing infrastructure. If you want to continue to build out the
area, ENHANCE THE INFRASTRUCTURE FIRST. This is the correct order of development. Having the infrastructure in place before adding units will
minimize the impact of the development and also provide necessary and adequate evacuation routes in the event of an emergency (e.g. fires which we
have experienced several times in the Hills),
Once adequate infrastructure is in place, with the ability to effectively evacuate the region, then you can consider further development.
