Dear Members of the City Council and Planning Commission, My husband and I, along with our two teenagers, purchased our home in Anaheim Hills in 2021. We feel fortunate to live in this community and care deeply about preserving its safety, livability, and quality of life. We reside on near the intersection of Serrano and Taylor Court. We write to formally express our opposition to the proposed development due to serious concerns regarding traffic congestion, public safety, infrastructure capacity, and strain on community resources. Traffic conditions in our area are already significantly impacted. Serrano Avenue, Weir Canyon Road, Imperial, Nohl Ranch Road, and Santa Ana Canyon Road experience substantial daily congestion, much of which appears to be through-traffic from outside the immediate neighborhood. Exiting our street has become increasingly difficult and, at times, unsafe. Transporting our children to and requires us to leave considerably earlier each morning, yet traffic remains heavily congested during peak hours. What should be routine, short trips frequently take up to thirty minutes due to gridlock. Additional residential development would only exacerbate these conditions. Public safety is another critical concern. Living adjacent to the hills places our neighborhood in a high fire-risk area. During fire season, evacuation routes are already limited and heavily traveled. Under current traffic conditions, a large-scale evacuation would be extremely challenging. Increasing population density without meaningful roadway expansion and infrastructure improvements raises serious concerns about emergency response times and safe evacuation capacity. Furthermore, existing community resources are already strained. When our children attempt to enroll in programs at the there are consistently waitlists and limited availability. This reflects a community operating at or near capacity. Expanding residential development without corresponding investment in recreational facilities, roads, and essential infrastructure will further diminish access to services for current residents. Anaheim Hills is valued for its balance of residential living, open space, and manageable infrastructure. Any proposed development should first demonstrate that roads, emergency access, schools, and community facilities can safely and effectively support additional population growth. For these reasons, we respectfully oppose the proposed project in its current form and urge the City to prioritize infrastructure improvements, public safety, and preservation of community quality of life before approving further expansion. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Taj and Rwand Teffaha
