A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM RATIFYING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT
APPLICATION AND THE ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR 2025 TOBACCO GRANT PROGRAM, AUTHORIZING
THE POLICE CHIEF, OR THEIR DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE
ALL REQUIRED GRANT DOCUMENTS, AND INCREASING
THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2025-26
ACCORDINGLY
WHEREAS, the California Department of Justice (the "Grantor") has heretofore
invited public agencies, including the City of Anaheim, to submit applications for the FY 2025
Tobacco Grant Program (the "Grant"); and
WHEREAS, on June 19, 2025 the Chief of Police for the City of Anaheim, by and
through his designee, applied on behalf of the City of Anaheim to the Grantor for said Grant; and
WHEREAS, in response to that Grant application, the City of Anaheim was
awarded Five Hundred Fifty -Four Thousand Five Hundred and Fifty -Six Dollars ($554,556) in
Grant funds by the Grantor; and
WHEREAS, the City is familiar with the terms, conditions and limitations of the
Grant; and
WHEREAS, the City is willing and able to conform to each of the terms, conditions
and limitations imposed upon the City of Anaheim pursuant to the Grant; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend the annual budget of the City of
Anaheim to reflect and incorporate the Five Hundred Fifty -Four Thousand Five Hundred and
Fifty -Six Dollars ($554,556) in Grant funds awarded to the City, and to increase the annual
appropriations and expenditures in the appropriate City of Anaheim program to reflect such award.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Anaheim as follows:
1. The submission of the application for the Grant by the Chief of Police on
behalf of the City of Anaheim, a public entity established under the laws of the State of California,
to the Grantor is hereby ratified and approved.
2. The City Council of the City of Anaheim hereby agrees to, and by this
Resolution, does accept the Five Hundred Fifty -Four Thousand Five Hundred and Fifty -Six
Dollars ($554,556) in Grant funds awarded to the City without further action of the City Council
being required therefore.
3. The City of Anaheim hereby agrees to comply with each and all of the
terms, conditions and limitations imposed by the Grantor upon said Grant, and the Anaheim Police
Chief, or their respective designee, are hereby authorized and directed to execute any agreements,
assurances, or other documents that are required or necessary in connection with the acceptance
or implementation of the Grant.
4. The annual budget of the City of Anaheim for Fiscal Year 2025-26 shall be
amended by increasing the appropriations and authorized expenditures in the appropriate Police
Department program account in such amounts as are equal to the amount of Grant funds to be
received by the City.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim this 3 day of March , 2026, by the following roll
call vote:
