RESOLUTION NO. 72R- 428
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM REJECTING ALL BIDS RECEIVED UP TO
THE HOUR OF 2:00 P.M. ON THE 21ST DAY OF
SEPTEMBER, 1972, FOR A PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT, TO
WIT: ANAHEIM HILLS GOLF COURSE CART PATHS IN
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM WORK ORDER NO. l502.
WHEREAS, heretofore, to wit, on the 29th day of August,
1972, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did adopt Resolution
No. 72R-376 finding and determining that public convenience and
necessity required the construction and completion of a public
improvernent consisting of the construction of Anaheim Hills Golf
Course cart paths, in the City of Anaheim consisting of construc-
ting golf cart paths, 8 feet and 12 feet wide; and a golf cart
parking pad with asphalt concrete over native soil or with
"Sandcrete"; and appurtenant work as more particularly set forth
in the plans and specifications on file in the Office of the
City Clerk or City Engineer, Work Order No. lS02; and
WHEREAS, the City Council did authorize and direct the
City Clerk to publish a notice according to law inviting sealed
proposals for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services,
materials and equipment, and all utilities and transportation
inCluding power, fuel and water and performing all work necessary
to construct and complete said public improvement, and fixing
the 21st day of September, 1972, at the hour of 2:00 o'clock
P.M. as the date and hour for the opening of said bids in the
Council Chamber in the City Hall, in the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, upon said 21st day of September, 1972, at the
hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M., the City Clerk and City Engineer did
open all bids received up to that hour, in public, in the City
Hall, in the City of Anaheim, and the City Engineer did tabulate
all bids so received and did report the result thereof to the
City Council at its regular meeting held on the 26th day of
September, 1972; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that all bids received
are in excess of the estimate of the City Engineer of the cost
of said public improvement and are not representative of actual
construction costs; that said bids should be rejected, and
some changes in extent and design of the work made which will
result in rnore competitive bids; and that said job should be
readvertised at a later date.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that all bids received up to the hour of
2:00 o'clock P.M. on September 21, 1972, tabulated by the City
Engineer, and submitted to the Council on September 26, 1972,
for the construction of Anaheim Hills Golf Course Cart Paths,
in the City of Anaheim, Work Order No. 1502 be, and the same are
hereby rejected; and that some changes in extent and design
of the work be made which will result in more competitive bids;
and that said job be readvertised at a later date.
