Resolved, that it will be for the intere and advantage of
the City of Anaheim and the City of Santa Ana to enter into a jo

RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF ANAREIRIG
RESOLVED BY THE BO.�.RD OF TRUSTEES of THE CITY OF ANAHEIM:
That the following be, and they are hereby adopted as speci-
fications for a motor truck for the City of Anaheim, to -wit:
MOTOR: Track type; four cylinders, 3 3/4” bore; 5 stroke,
3- gearing crankshaft and camshaft.
TRANSMISSION: 4 -speed forward and one reverse; direct drive
in third speed; transmission equipped with 6 -8 pitch gears and al
shafts mounted-on Timken roller bearings.
CLUTCH: multiple disc clutch.
PROPELLER ASSEMBLY: Power transmitted to rear axle by tubu-
lar truck type propeller shaft of nickel steel and two extra -heav
truck type universal joints.
REAR AXLE: Internal gear; ratio 8 to 1 on direct drive,
i. e. , 3rd speed; 6.2 to 1 on 4th speed; the load carried on a
rugged I -beam; power applied to wheels by means of jackshafts
and pinions, which are carried by I -beam section. Timken bear-
ings throughout.
FRONT AXLE: Drop- forged I -beam section.
WHEELS: Heavy wooden artillery type; 12 spokes front, 14
spokes rear, 1 3/4" square; both front and rear wheels mounted
on roller bearings.

TIRES: Solid; 34" x 4 ".
SPRINGS: Front, 36" x 2 ", 8 leaf; rear, 50" a 3 " 10 -leaf;
both front and rear springs made of high -grade carbon steel with
alloy master leaf; all eyes bronze bushed; spring suspension to E
provide positive lubrication at spring eyes.
STEERING GEAR: Truck type, worm and split nut. Stearing
wheel 18" diameter. Electric horn button on top of column.
CARBURETOR: Vacuum feed. Air control on steering column.

2 gallons capacity.
3 COOLING SYSTEM: Cast tank radiator, capacity 5 gallons.
4 Large filler opening; finned cast tanks and removable core.

6 IGNITION: Variable spark; magneto. Control lever on
7 steering wheel.
8 WhaMBASE: 130 inches. Turning radius, 27 feet.
9 LOADING SPACE: 115 inches from rear of driver's seat.
10 FRAIJE; Flexible 4w channel. Scientifically designed
11 truck frame of sufficient flexibility to prevent stressing at
12 any point. Five cross members provided to prevent undue weave.

18 erator; 6-80 ampere hour rubber- threaded storage battery, two
19 headlights with dimmers, electric tail light. Ammeter and ig-
20 nition switch on dash. Starting but-ton switch conveniently 10-
21 cated. Impulse starter.
22 R,4DIATOR GUARD: A sturdy steel radiator guard, f inished.
23 in satin aluminum, to fully protect the radiator core.

25 vided with two seven-inch upholstered spring cushions and deep

PAINT: Chassis finished in cream colors with gold strip-

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Clerk of the City of
Anaheim be, and he is hereby instructed to publish for two suc-
cessive weeks, a notice in the knaheim Gazette, a newspaper of
general circulation, printed, published, and circulated in the
City of Anaheim, inviting sealed proposals or bids for the far-
ni ahin c of said motor track to the said City of janaheim.

Each proposal or bid must be accompanied by a bond to the
City of Anaheim, executed by at least two good and sufficient
sureties, who shall justify in double the amount of said bond,
the amount of which said bond shall be equal to at least ten
per cent of the amount of said bid, and shall be conditioned
upon the execution of a contract for the delivery of said motor
track and the furnishing of the bond required within ten days
after the acceptance of said bid, or in lieu of said bond, each
bidder may accompany his bid by a certified check or cashier's
check in like amount.
Said bids will be received by the City Clerk of the City of
Anaheim, up to 8 o'clock P. M. of Thursday, the 24th day of No-
vember 1921 and the Board of Trustees of the City of Anaheim
reserves the -right to reject any and all bids.
The successful bidder must, within ten days after the ac-
ceptance of his bid, enter into a contract with the City of Ana-
heim, for the delivery of said motor truck, in accordance with
said specifications, and must furnish a bond in a Bum equal to
twice the amount of his said bid, which bond shall be executed
by two sureties, who shall justify in the amount of said bond
in the manner required by law, which said bond shall be subject
to the approval of the Board of Trustees of the City of Anaheim
and shall be conditioned upon the faithful performance of said
contract for the delivery of said truck as herein required.
