I’m in shock and I found the words and ideas of some council to be very sick. > > I think it’s fair to say depending on where you live here you have a different perspective. Living here since 95 I can tell you every fire has been very different as well. The last was not good and the fire department was in prepared. Know your way is a joke and residents knew better then the fire department with all due respect. > > I also heard mention of weeding or clearing that has taken place. I can not recall in 25 years ever clearing the hill behind me. Property had sprinklers owned by developer turned over to Irvine company then given to national Forrest. Area never maintained. I also heard FD say they work with HOA we gave all the trees and maintenance is non existent and we back the 241. It’s pure fuel. 4 houses from 241 hillside. > > > In all the reports and ideas done two things have never been addressed and I suppose I’m looking for an answer. One the cut through IE traffic grows by the day and any look at previous years, today or even a year from now are in recognizable especially near Weir Canyon. On Weir Serrano or Santa Ana canyon. I heard last night we had wide roads with shoulders that simply is not true. Two in an evacuation like the last you need to count and realize it’s more then 92808 evacuating it’s Yorba Linda and from there VP and OPA. What measures have been taken coordinating with those cities? Also on a random Tuesday you can not even get near the freeway. I had heard a suggestion to block and allow cars on SAC or freeway to allow people out. As you know those efforts would not work and in stand still traffic your not clearing anything. > > > > > I heard a lot about the building codes for this proposal and to be honest that’s not my concern having my own family neighbors etc to get out and as people were stuck on festival parking lot last time because we could not get out the plan is to permanently put another 1k plus people and cars? > > I heard about fairmont road expansion which I do not believe will do anything but how are we not required to address the situation PRIOR to approving anything regardless? It’s extremely wrecked to do so and I’m sure opens city to liability being it’s been brought to attention and documented. > > I think people are open to change but again like the old Kaiser location that puts no one at risk and is not where traffic cuts through daily to the IE. > > I do not know if in your home location you have to travel weir or get across the freeway at night to YL it should not take 45-1 hr to go 2-3 miles. Pics above sorry there is “no room” as the traffic authority report's and no shoulder on divided highway. > > > My last concern is look at Savi ranch once thriving center is now dead with an elevated crime rate. Kids play in the run down empty store parking lots. Brilliant of YL part but it destroyed everything. > > Even if festival or a similar area was to rezone it should do to our wildfire zone have to stay like other properties 2 stories tall overall speaking. > > I would think too after hearing from council I’m voting due to a district not being able to get out we need to do the same hear is criminal and could probably be so on record. There are no wildfires in the city areas and no canyon winds that have blown out windows or ripped tiles off our homes. > Once something is done it’s permanent and a lot of us put every dollar we have into our homes to let some Pissed off council decide our future. > > > I would also like to point out as it stands fire and emergency personnel has a difficult time getting to certain areas since we do not have shoulders. This is a very narrow city part that goes to the only way out to the IE the congestion is like nothing else in any other city or street. > > If other council need to make changes to their district so be it but do not play a game with lives and openly. > > > This area is a multi city thing not just Anaheim everything here is shared with Yorba Linda sat the very least as well. There project in La Palma was shut down do you traffic evacuation and the fire zone. > > > I do want clarification as some of these things have never been addressed and I’m curious as to why they have not because they are a huge impact. > > > Before anything is approved this should be fixed this should never be my view of terror out my window. > > > > Sent from my iPhone > Jennifer Date:3/10/2026 3:04:09 PM From:"Jen McCool" mccooljen@yahoo.com To:"Public Comment" publiccomment@anaheim.net Subject:[EXTERNAL] Fwd: Festival proposed project NO Warning: This email originated from outside the City of Anaheim. I also think before and vote is placed that the people voting should experience living here in daily traffic. If you vote for any project here you have never tried to escape a fire. You have no plan coordinated with Yorba Lina Or Villa Park. You have never addressed the issue of this being the bottleneck entrance to the IE that grows daily. The know your way while I understand the idea behind it, it’s not realistic at all and in an actual fire senario we need to escape or get up any location we can to protect our family. Know your way really does nothing except flood all cars to the freeway which all neighboring cities are also heading the same direction. Yesterday on a Thursday it was 30 min between Weir and imperial with an average speed of 3-6 mph. Then I will attach a video from Weir and Serrano around 4. This area of AH just like Yorba Linda, Villa park and OPA are single and double lane roads with no shoulders and no center dividers so unlike downtown areas when there is traffic there is NO WAY for escape or fire or police or ambulance etc to get through. Wayz has turned this entire area into a flood of cars cutting through to the IE. Please understand even without a fire a nearly 3 hour window to maybe get out is not ok and with puts of in parking lots or stuck on weir Serrano or Santa Ana canyon and small streets to them in our cars. No coordination with other cities has been done on this please realize Anahrim does not act alone. I have shared my story before. In last fire I got hit by a fire tornado realizing I could not get out, my husband took hours to get to EL Rabcho to get our son and get to my parents house in Yorba Linda which was also evacuated where homes burned. Our daughter was at Orange Lutheran and a family took her to there home in VP which was evacuated where they then tried to get to another home in OPA that was evacuated roads closed all cars stuck on streets. We were unable to get to her till the middle of the night, then unable to get back together as a family as 4 cities were evacuated and not allowing cars or people back in dues to loss of homes and spot fires. Festival well I’ll just leave this right here, my husband said it’s like the TITANIC they built thus big beautiful boat with not enough life vests, they knew it and in the end we all know how that panned out. This new proposal no different from the rest does not help our streets our daily life our ability to leave our homes or ability to get out in a fire. The structure is grossly underestimated and with not enough spots the structure and lower deck of festival would be taken over which would also impact and destroy current businesses which we desperately need here. What I think you all should be looking at is Savi ranch when YL built those apartments it was impossible to get in and out most times, it turned red on crime map, and nearly every business with the expectation of three have gone out of business, it’s a area heavily avoided and difficult to get to and from anyway do to the changes. It’s a mess really. I’m tired of listening to union workers speak about temp jobs that leave a permanent dangerous disaster behind. You know with the way things are most of us can not just pick up and move to get away. Also fir the last 5 years straight Anaheim has seen a decline in residence and a trip to google or 1 of 100’s of articles will tell you they are all leaving to south county to get away from the traffic the high density and the crime, they want clean open streets. Dog parks , trails, less crime, less people. Instead of developing anything Anaheim should be building open clean spaces. You already know this though. People do NOT want any of this and I believe in other districts there are issues that they brought up that should also be worked out, stick it to the people or I hope you guys die, or make people’s daily life miserable should not be what we’re voting with. Please I’m asking and I guess begging at this point our quality of life and restriction of movement in our community is at an all time high. The city will be responsible going forward with damage death ambulance and fire personnel that can not make it to us even in a Tuesday in an emergency. We do not and will never have the set up as a downtown area. Please also note that Yorba Linda turned down project on LA palma directly across the way no builders remedy either due to evacuations and fire and we are in it worse over here. Time to put us first please. I know you can do the right thing for the people instead of city pockets. Let us work together to make the entire city a place to go to not to go from. 1 Video share.icloud.com Jennifer Sent from my iPhone
